U.S. Veteran Information (non-governmental)

Welcome Veterans!!

Welcome to the U.S. Veteran Information (non-governmental) [USVI] website.

USVI was founded in 1997 with a single page concerning a small but enormously important group of researchers under the Department of Army through whom each and every claim must pass before Veteran Affairs can approve it. In those days this organization was referred to as Research of Unit Records, Environmental Support Group, or ESG. It was later named the U.S. Armed Services Center for Unit Records Research, or CURR, and more recently, U.S. Army & Joint Services Records Research Center (JSRRC).

Throughout the years from its inception, USVI has helped thousands of vetereans looking for information on how to navigate the VA system. Today the site is under rennovation as we strive to update the look and provide new and helpful information as it pertains to claims, benefits, records, and medical.

Our Own Website

Part of this rennovation includes a final move to our own virtual website. Thus far our web space has graciously been provided by Thunder Promotions (Tpromo.com).

Note that when this change takes place we will allow this site to remain in place but with a note and corresponding link to the new site on the front page.

New USVI Team

We are also working to assemble a new USVI Team to field your questions and a new interactive forum under our veteran Message Center (see menu at bottom of page or on homepage). This BBS will enable you to ask questions to get answers. Anyone can read and anyone can join. There's no better way to get the answers to questions than this. If one of our team does not have the answer, then perhaps someone else copying the mail will.

The USVI Mission

USVI's mission is to help U.S. Veterans find the information and help they need. Every attempt is made to assure that the briefs, articles and other information herein are as accurate and factual as possible. For more information on our mission, click HERE.

In Closing

Within these pages you will find a wealth of information on a variety of subjects that pertain to veteran compensation and health care. Some of the topics covered are Agent Orange, Gulf War Illness, the mechanics of filing a claim with the VA (Veteran Affairs), survivor benefits, and more.

To assure that you are always able to find U.S.V.I., please visit our "contact page" at www.usvetinfo.com and "bookmark" it (you can also bookmark it from this link). From our contact page you will be able to access either site.

Thank you for visiting our humble web site.
