    Trauma Assessment Unit
    The Trauma Assessment Unit conducts research on the biological effects of trauma with a goal for better treatment of those inflicted with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. An estimated 27-62% of women are affected by sexual abuse, and about 15% of individuals develop chronic PTSD after severe traumas. Individuals with PTSD are vulnerable to high levels of anxiety, depression, substance abuse, phobias, personality disorders, flashbacks, emotional numbing and nightmares.
