Re: Awards Request

Attn: Ronald Hindman, Director National Records Center

Dear Mr. Hindman:

My search for my updated and correct awards began in December 2002 when I found myself filing for disability with the Veterans Administration. Every time I have requested records for your offices, I have received an answer, and one time, received my SRB. EVERY TIME! The only times that you-all could not help me was when the request (for my medals update) was beyond you-all's prevue. The latest request, electronically, was answered within a couple of weeks -- you-all have sent my request on to the awards section about 3 times now -- you-all have done your part, but the folks in the awards section are lacking something good that you-all have!

Today I was very shocked, pleased, amazed to receive a personal telephone call to my cell phone from one of your people! WOW! He explained the process, which I was already aware, and then further helped and encouraged me by promising to hand deliver my request (through Representative Gohmert -- Louie to us East Texans) to the proper department! This FYI is the FOURTH request to that department, and your former Marine who called me is expediting it superbly!

I am sure you-all get plenty of mail from disgruntled former Armed Forces folks. I am also almost certain that everybody you do good work for does not send you all a Hearty and Well Deserved THANKS.

You-all are doing GREAT WORK! Thank you, each and every one of you-all who deliver the goods -- and don't get much appreciation for it!

If I can EVER be of service to you-all in your business, please feel free to call, write or e-mail! Your work is of the highest importance for folks like myself who find ourselves paying for our service to our Nation through no fault of our own.

God Bless Each and Every One of You-All!
