Gartner says nearly 50% of PaaS offerings are now cloud-only

Gartner says nearly 50% of PaaS offerings are now cloud-only | #TpromoCom #Security #Cloud #Data | Nearly half of today’s platform as a service (PaaS) service offerings are cloud-only, according to Gartner, Inc. Currently, there are more than 360 vendors across 21 market segments, delivering more than 550 PaaS offerings. Forty-eight percent of these offerings are cloud-only. Not a single vendor has a foothold across all 21 segments, and 90 percent of them only operate within a single PaaS market segment.

“Business and technology leaders are shifting to strategic investment in cloud computing,” said Yefim Natis, research vice president and analyst at Gartner. “Cloud computing is one of the key disruptive forces in IT markets that is gaining mainstream trust.”

“Although many organisations anticipate a long-term retention of on-premises computing, the vendors of nearly half of the cloud platform offerings bet on the prevailing growth of cloud deployments and chose the more modern and more efficient cloud-only delivery of their capabilities,” said Mr. Natis. Enterprise IT spending for cloud-based offerings will surpass spending for noncloud IT offerings by 2022, according to Gartner.

The total PaaS market revenue is forecast to reach $20 billion in 2019, and to exceed $34 billion in 2022, according to the latest forecast from Gartner. In this shift to cloud, database and application platform services represent the largest market segments, with blockchain, digital experience, serverless and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) platform services as the newest.

Physical security market to reach US$119.4B by 2023

Physical security market to reach US$119.4B by 2023 | #TpromoCom #Security #Marketing #Business | According to the latest research from Marketsandmarkets, the physical security market is expected to grow from USD 84.1 billion in 2018 to USD 119.4 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 7.3% during the forecast period, with the major drivers being the rise in incidents of terror attacks, technological advancements and deployment of wireless technology in security systems, increasing use of Internet Protocol (IP)-based cameras for video surveillance, implementation of mobile-based access control, and adoption of Internet of Things (IoT)-based security systems with cloud computing platforms.

Within the services segment of the market security systems integration is expected to lead the physical security market in 2018. Security systems integration is an important service in the implementation of a physical security strategy, as it involves the collective use of a variety of components or subsystems as one large system. System integrators provide solutions based on the size and complexity of the security to be provided. The demand for integrators of security systems is growing rapidly, owing to the deployment of diverse security strategies in organizations of all sizes across the globe.

The large enterprises segment is expected to hold the highest market share. These enterprises were the early adopters of physical security solutions and services, as they have a larger revenue pool to spend and a larger infrastructure to be protected. Large enterprises need complex and highly scalable security systems and services in comparison to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These customers operate across multiple locations in different geographies, hence they require a solution, which offers elevated integration capabilities and is capable of large-scale seamless integration of security operations. In addition to the complexity and requirements, large enterprises are at high risk for breaches and other cyber and physical crimes. The combination of the complexity and high risks require large systems that are fully integrated and can utilise the best and the most reliable technology.

Verint to acquire Foresee

Verint to acquire Foresee | #TpromoCom #Security #Business #Acquisition | Verint Systems Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Foresee, a leading cloud voice of the customer (VoC) vendor. The Verint-Foresee combination aims to create the market’s most comprehensive omnichannel cloud VoC portfolio available—an analytics-rich offering that will allow organisations to better measure and understand customer experiences and prioritize the improvements that will have the greatest business impact.

The acquisition will add Foresee’s causal modeling, predictive analytics and benchmarking to Verint’s existing omnichannel VoC portfolio. The combination will create a new standard for customer experience (CX), marketing and operational executives who want a unified view of the voice of their customers across digital, voice, surveys, email, chat and social media. Both Verint and Foresee customers will benefit from an innovative vision, backed by the resources and commitment to building the next generation of VoC solutions for organizations looking to elevate their customer experience.

According to Verint, leading industry analysts agree that voice of the customer solutions are required to gain a complete view of the customer experience. Without this focus, organisations are challenged to truly understand the customer journeys and sentiments that help measure CX impact. Analysts emphasise that CX stakeholders inside organisations must transition from channel centric activities to holistic programmes that manage customer interactions in full context across all touchpoints and channels to drive better business outcomes.
