CE or smart home device in last 12 months cited difficulty in setup, installation, and usage as the reason. The firm will explore opportunities to improve user setup and create a lifetime customer relationship through connectivity and user-generated data in the upcoming webinar “Next-Gen CE: Reinventing Consumer Experience with IoT Data,” co-hosted with Copilot.

Value of Services to Customers (image)

The webinar, on Wednesday, August 5, 11 AM CT, addresses adoption of connected products, the multiple levels of an IoT strategy for CE companies, the challenges in the transition to a connected platform, and strategies to capture the lifetime value of customer.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for connected products when looking at retail and virtual shelves, and with more manufacturers introducing affordable devices with advanced connectivity features, many companies are in a race to develop and deploy an integrated connected experience to their customers,” said Kristen Hanich, Senior Analyst, Parks Associates. “Our research shows one in three CE device owners have experienced at least one technical issue with their devices, so product manufacturers can compete on the experience they deliver to their customers.”

“Brands who are quick to embrace IoT data to optimize their customers’ ownership experience will lead the next generation of consumer products,” said Frank Zvi, Co-CEO, Copilot.

The webinar features the following topics:

  • New strategies and tools to expand the CE business model from a single transaction to embrace the lifetime value of the customer
  • Consumer interest in new revenue opportunities, including subscriptions, ecosystem sales, and brand loyalty
  • Key CE marketplace trends and the factors for success or failure in the transition to connected devices
  • Strategies for using user-generated data to drive customer engagement, improve product strategy, and lower returns

Moderated by Kristen Hanich, Parks Associates, this webinar features the following panelists:

  • Frank Zvi, Co-CEO, Copilot
  • Tejas Shah, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Information Officer, Arlo Technologies, Inc.

Security Industry Association Announces Winners of the 2020 SIA New  Product Showcase Awards | #TpromoCom #SIA #Security #Awards | Leica Geosystems took the top honors in SIA’s annual awards program recognizing innovative security products in partnership with ISC West.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced the 2020 winners of the SIA New Product Showcase Awards, the flagship awards program in partnership with ISC West recognizing innovative security products, services and solutions. Top among the winners – who were recognized July 9 during a virtual awards show – was Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, receiving the 2020 Best New Product Award.

Since its inception in 1979, the SIA New Product Showcase has been the security industry’s premier product awards program. New products are reviewed by a panel of judges with extensive industry experience, and in 2020, following significant deliberations, the 30 judges presented awards for technologies covering 23 product and service categories.

Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, received the Best New Product honor for its 3D Surveillance With Leica BLK247, submitted in the Emerging Technologies category.

Call TpromoCom for web design and content (image)The 3D Surveillance With Leica BLK247 is “a first-of-its-kind reality capture sensor for building security and operations,” said Leica Geosystems. “It is the latest product in the company’s BLK product line, a collection of reality capture, scanning and photogrammetry hardware and software. The BLK247 offers continuous, 24/7 LiDAR-based 3D monitoring and change detection within spaces. It does this using LiDAR, 3D digital fencing and continuous scanning to monitor buildings and spaces 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

The prestigious Judges’ Choice Award was presented to Suprema Inc. for the Airfob Patch product, submitted in the Access Control Devices & Peripherals Hardware – Wireless category.

“Airfob Patch is the world’s first mobile-to-RF-card signal translator, enabling mobile phones to communicate with the existing RF card readers,” said Suprema Inc. “Wire, batteries nor construction is required for installation. Airfob Patch charges itself by using the existing RF field signals transmitted from the RF reader. It transforms the RF fields into its own power source.”

Additionally, John Spooner – executive vice president at Alarm Detection Systems and an active volunteer judge in the SIA New Product Showcase program – received the New Product Showcase Merit Award, which recognizes an individual or company who, through their support of the New Product Showcase, demonstrates a commitment to the vision and mission of the program, contributes to its success and promotes the advancement of SIA and the security industry overall.

“SIA is proud to present John Spooner with the 2020 SIA New Product Showcase Merit Award; John has not missed a single SIA New Product Showcase event since he began as an active volunteer judge in the program 17 years ago,” said Chris Grniet, chair of the SIA New Product Showcase Committee. “He has always been a fair and honest participant and has never hesitated to jump in and help whenever we need him. He has been exemplary in his commitment, participation and ability to help the group reach consensus.”

“Following hours of panel-driven judging and technology demonstrations, SIA is thrilled to recognize the 2020 winners of the SIA New Product Showcase Awards for their innovative products, services and contributions representing the best new offerings in the market,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “SIA applauds all the honorees who received awards in 2020 and particularly Leica Geosystems and Suprema Inc. for standing out in this highly competitive field of entrants to earn the Best New Product and Judges’ Choice distinctions. Additionally, we congratulate John Spooner on receiving the 2020 New Product Showcase Merit Award in recognition of his many valuable contributions to this premier program.”

The Integration of Security And IoT

Verdafero offers an IoT and Utilities monitoring service (image)

The Integration of Security And IoT | #Verdafero #Security #IoT #Monitoring |  Security has many faces, whether it’s the hardened, Grade 1 locks on all the perimeter man doors throughout a building, electronic access control, video surveillance cameras, fire detection equipment, or the IoT devices that monitors a variety of critical services, such as  temperature, humidity, air flow, pressure, or the integrity and quality of any one of several utilities that clients depend on.

If there was ever a time when integration between the various facets of security, life safety, and general commercial Internet of Things (IoT) might occur, it’s now.

Monitoring Electric Utility usage is one of many applications for Verdafero's Cloud-based, AI-driven service (image)The Central Monitoring Station (CMS) that Security Integrators and Alarm Dealers use is equipped to monitor the physical security elements of a facility, but not necessarily IoT devices that output analog data. Not only that, but traditional CMS’ are not readily capable of analyzing multiple streams of Big Data (BD) for anomalies that might occur. But there is a solution to this problem that is capable of including the positive attributes of a CMS.

In the area of Utility BD, “Verdafero’s Utility and IoT monitoring and analytics platform uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to capture, analyze, report and predict variable, broad-based utility expense information found from many data sources,” says Alastair Hood, Ph.D. and CEO of Verdafero.

Security Integrators and Alarm Dealers are invited to learn about a new source of RMR! (image)

Verdafero’s Cloud-based processing center will utilize  your favorite CMS’ API (Application Programming Interface), thus allowing your CMS to act on alerts issued by the AI platform.

According to Hood, “Using Verdafero, security service providers can now actively analyze and compare the performance of similar client properties and benchmark them  against other properties within their portfolio to help clients better  understand the opportunities to reduce overhead expenses.”

Biamp Announces Direct to Market Distribution in the United Kingdom and Ireland | #TpromoCom #Biamp #Financial #Business |  Biamp, a leading supplier of professional audiovisual solutions based in Beaverton, Oregon, USA, today announced the implementation of a dealer-direct model in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which will enhance the company’s ability to support customers and drive growth.

Following the recent opening of the company’s new European headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, and UK sales office in London, Biamp is now transitioning to dealer-direct model to strengthen the company’s sales, support, and product distribution in the region. In addition to some direct accounts, Biamp will be working with Midwich, Leisuretech, and Professional Audio in Northern Ireland—in all cases, served by Biamp’s sales and support staff. This enables the company to more aggressively pursue opportunities in all target vertical markets: corporate, food service and hospitality, retail, large venues, education, religion, sports and leisure, and outdoor applications.

“With the UK being one of the biggest and most important markets in Europe, we are confident that our decision to go direct will allow us to serve our partners more effectively.
