Google Helps Police Identify Devices Close to Crime Scenes Using Location Data

Google Helps Police Identify Devices Close to Crime Scenes Using Location Data | #TpromoCom #Google #Police #Crime | It’s no secret that Google tracks you everywhere, even when you keep Google’s Location History feature disabled.

As revealed by an Associated Press investigation in 2018, other Google apps like Maps or daily weather update service on Android allows the tech giant to continuously collect your precise latitude and longitude.

According to Google, the company uses this location-tracking features with an intent to improve its users’ experience, like “personalized maps, recommendations based on places you’ve visited, help finding your phone, real-time traffic updates about your commute, and more useful ads.”

Moreover, it’s also known that Google could share your location data with federal authorities in criminal investigations when asked with a warrant.

Investigator Says Amazon Chief’s Phone Hacked by Saudis

Investigator Says Amazon Chief’s Phone Hacked by Saudis | #TpromoCom #Amazon #Hacker #CyberSecurity | Everyone’s a target sometime when it comes to cybercrime. The art of avoidance where it involves hackers is certainly of great value as we move further into the 21st Century world of digital thuggery and political terrorism.

Here we have a high official with Amazon, Jeff Bezos, who’s cellphone was allegedly hacked by a foreign entity for what could be construed as an effort to uncover the identity of the individual that murdered a Saudi journalist. Bezos owns The Washington Post which investigated the murder.

“Bezos hired Gavin de Becker & Associates to find out how his intimate text messages and photos made their way into the hands of the Enquirer, which reported on the Amazon chief’s extramarital affair, leading to his divorce,” says the author of the Security Week story below. The moral of the story is to trust no one, not even your own mobile device. —Al Colombo

The investigator hired to look into the release of intimate images of Jeff Bezos said Saturday he has concluded that Saudi Arabian authorities hacked the Amazon chief’s phone to access his personal data.

Gavin de Becker linked the hack to extensive coverage by The Washington Post newspaper, which is owned by Bezos, of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul last year.

Forensics gone wrong: When DNA snares the innocent

Forensics gone wrong: When DNA snares the innocent | #TpromoCom #DNA #Forensics #Investigation | Its accuracy has made DNA evidence virtually unassailable. A landmark report published by the National Research Council in 2009 dismissed most forensics as unproven folk-wisdom but singled out DNA as the one forensic science worthy of the name. Yet in recent years Hampikian and other geneticists have begun to question the technology.

Thanks to a series of advances—including the polymerase chain reaction, which can multiply tiny amounts of DNA—it’s now possible to detect DNA at levels hundreds or even thousands of times lower than when DNA fingerprinting was developed in the 1980s. Investigators can even collect “touch DNA” from fingerprints on, say, a glass or a doorknob. A mere 25 or 30 cells will sometimes suffice.

California bar shooting leaves 12 dead, including sheriff’s sergeant

California bar shooting leaves 12 dead, including sheriff’s sergeant | #TpromoCom #Homicide #Shooting #Media #sensationalize | A gunman opened fire overnight in a Southern California bar and country music venue. The Ventura County sheriff said the bar was crowded with more than 100 people, many of them college students. (please scroll)

The gunman, who hasn’t been identified, killed 12 people, including a sheriff’s sergeant who responded to the gunfire. Police later found the shooter dead inside the bar, possibly from a self-inflicted wound.

“There was a day when the news media showed great restraint in publicizing horrible mass shootings like this, which helped to prevent copycat occurrences,” says Al Colombo, Senior Design Specialist with TpromoCom of Canton, Ohio. “Perhaps it’s time to tone down the rhetoric and stop glorifying all the blood and gore at our children’s expense so we can slow the emergence of nut cases.”

In the past, responsible media did not sensationalize these kinds of events in order to NOT attract nut cases. Now, today, it’s a political issue that the Left apparently is committed to sensationalize every chance they get. While we’d like to think that they do this for rating purposes, one has to wonder why they put ranking ahead of the lives of so many children.

“So many security experts on both sides of the isle are afraid to really say what’s going on in the news media. I’m not afraid to voice what everyone knows deep down inside their soul,” says Colombo. “The media is fueling the political fires surrounding the second amendment by sensationalizing these sad, murderous events. In every case it draws out the nut cases who want the entire world to remember their sick, sorry name.”

Shooting at YouTube Offices Wounds 3; Suspect Is Dead

Shooting at YouTube Offices Wounds 3; Suspect Is Dead  | #TpromoCom #YouTube #Shooting #Video #Shooter | A woman opened fire with a handgun at YouTube’s headquarters in California on Tuesday afternoon, shooting three people — one of whom was critically injured — before killing herself, the authorities said.

The San Bruno Police Department identified the attacker late Tuesday as Nasim Najafi Aghdam, who was in her late 30s. The motivation for the shootings was under investigation, the police said, although her social media postings included criticisms of YouTube.

“I’m not condoning this criminal action at YouTube’s HQ, but this company has devastated many a video creator’s career through selfish changes in the firm’s formula for advertising money,” says Al Colombo, Senior Design Specialist with TpromoCom of Canton, Ohio. “Although it’s not always a fact, but when you treat people good, they’re going to treat you good, too.”

Students Plan Walkouts, Sit-Ins Following Florida School Shooting

Students Plan Walkouts, Sit-Ins Following Florida School Shooting | #TpromoCom #school #shooter #activism | The Women’s March organizers and the Network for Public Education are encouraging students and teachers to organize walkouts, sit-ins and other events to protest gun violence in schools.

“All too often, this kind of tragedy ends up to be an opportunity for activists on the political Left to incite rage and anger among local communities to further their political agenda, which apparently is ‘disarmament,'” says Al Colombo, a CCTV Security Technician Forum administrator.
