Editor’s Note: When I was on an SDM assignment in the heart of Cleveland, I witnessed a drug deal in the basement parking area in the bowels of a high school. The security director was with myself along with the photographer when we saw it.

The security director said, “I think it’s best we leave now before they notice us.”

The basement was mostly clear of vehicles when, at the other end of the parking area, we saw two motor vehicles sitting together with men standing out and about them.

In addition, I saw bullet holes in windows, and the indentation of bullets in door frames and a light pole along the road. Unless you’ve seen something like this before you cannot possibly imagine the scene I saw before me at every turn.

The young man in this video is lucky to still be alive. –Allan Colombo

New Zealand’s Al-Noor Mosque 1st of many worldwide to be protected by A.I. Gun Detection via partnership with Athena Security & Al-Ameri International Trading

New Zealand’s Al-Noor Mosque 1st of many worldwide to be protected by AI #Gun Detection via partnership with Athena Security & Al-Ameri International Trading | #TpromoCom #Gunshot #Security | Athena Security and Al-Ameri International Trading Partner to Launch the ‘Keep Mosques Safe Initiative,’ Designed to Prevent Active Shooter Situations at Mosques All Over the World With Gun Detection.

The Al-Noor Mosque in Christchurch, NZ will be one of the first two mosques to leverage Athena Security’s award-winning AI-powered active shooter detection platform to protect its worshippers and staff after the tragic mass shooting.

Athena Security Gun Detection

Athena Security and Al-Ameri International Trading announced today the “Keep Mosques Safe” initiative (KMS). Al-Ameri International Trading, along with recognized Islamic charities and foundations, will finance the installation of Athena’s A.I.-powered gun and weapons detection platform in mosques around the world. The first mosque to benefit will be Al-Noor in Christchurch, NZ, where worshipers were targeted in a mass shooting that killed 50 people and injured 50 others on March 18.

“The mass shootings at the Al-Noor and Linwood Mosques were an unspeakable tragedy that no community should have to suffer,” said Athena Security co-founder & CEO Lisa Falzone. “The Keep Mosques Safe initiative helps worship spaces better protect themselves from extremists who wish to do them harm, by providing effective safety tools to prevent these horrific events.”

Athena Security’s A.I.-powered security platform, instantly and accurately detects active shootersbefore a weapon is fired. When a threat is detected, Athena’s award-winning security system warns and repels the suspect, and provides a live video alert to designated personnel and police within seconds, to save lives.

This proprietary platform has been developed with law enforcement and trained on scenarios under their supervision, ensuring that Athena can detect threats with the highest degree of accuracy and speed.

Shagaf Khan, President of the Muslim Association of Canterbury New Zealand and the Al-Noor Mosques said of the gift: “It gives us great pride to have ‘brothers and sisters’ like Brother Fahad A.B. Al-Ameri and his respected family who have shown their solidarity with the Al-Noor Mosque. Fahad explained the Keep Mosques Safe initiative, and that his company, Al-Ameri International Trading, would be supporting their ‘brothers and sisters’ with new technology that can protect mosques using artificial intelligence. I hope that many mosques and Islamic schools get a chance to use this gun detection system offered by Athena Security.”

Benefactor, Fahad A.B. Al-Ameri, CEO and Founder of Al-Ameri International said, “It gives us great honor to create this initiative to protect innocent men, women and children, in their houses of worship. After the tragic attack in the Al-Noor Mosque, I reached out to pay my condolences to Brother Shagaf Khan, as many had done. But, I was also committed to help support the New Zealand Islamic Community, and the search began for an intelligent system to prevent such incidents from happening again. Allah all Mighty gave me the capability to put together this blessed Keep Mosques Safe initiative with the cooperation of Athena Security and their threat detection platform.

“I wish to thank each and every person at Athena and I hope for many more mosques to be protected by their system in the near future. I also encourage Muslims around the world to join us in this Holy Month of Ramadan to expand support for this initiative and crowdfund more through www.LaunchGood.com, starting on May 5th. May Allah accept all our goodwill.”

California bar shooting leaves 12 dead, including sheriff’s sergeant

California bar shooting leaves 12 dead, including sheriff’s sergeant | #TpromoCom #Homicide #Shooting #Media #sensationalize | A gunman opened fire overnight in a Southern California bar and country music venue. The Ventura County sheriff said the bar was crowded with more than 100 people, many of them college students. (please scroll)

The gunman, who hasn’t been identified, killed 12 people, including a sheriff’s sergeant who responded to the gunfire. Police later found the shooter dead inside the bar, possibly from a self-inflicted wound.

“There was a day when the news media showed great restraint in publicizing horrible mass shootings like this, which helped to prevent copycat occurrences,” says Al Colombo, Senior Design Specialist with TpromoCom of Canton, Ohio. “Perhaps it’s time to tone down the rhetoric and stop glorifying all the blood and gore at our children’s expense so we can slow the emergence of nut cases.”

In the past, responsible media did not sensationalize these kinds of events in order to NOT attract nut cases. Now, today, it’s a political issue that the Left apparently is committed to sensationalize every chance they get. While we’d like to think that they do this for rating purposes, one has to wonder why they put ranking ahead of the lives of so many children.

“So many security experts on both sides of the isle are afraid to really say what’s going on in the news media. I’m not afraid to voice what everyone knows deep down inside their soul,” says Colombo. “The media is fueling the political fires surrounding the second amendment by sensationalizing these sad, murderous events. In every case it draws out the nut cases who want the entire world to remember their sick, sorry name.”

Gunfighters Then And Now

Gunfighters Then And Now | #TpromoCom #WMD #gunfighters #gunslingers | “As I remember, in the early 1960’s the local city police in my area of Ohio were still practicing the one-hand military stance that was also used in formal target pistol matches. And one small township police department was still using that method in the early 1980’s. But it was nothing that even resembled the one-hand instinct (point shooting) made famous by the gunslingers and lawmen of the old west” says Gary Miller, WMD author. (scroll down)

In the 1950’s, when Miller’s experience with handguns began, he was in his mid-teens. At that time, the two-hand hold on handguns was not yet the preferred handgun shooting criteria of the day. As a matter of fact, other than shooting from a sand bag rest for the purpose of testing ammunition or checking out the accuracy of a newly acquired gun, the two-hand hold was considered to be mostly for the ladies back then.  (“Or so I thought,” says Miller.)

“We also have a series of video clips under the HOT button on the right that feature movies or  western movie actors,” says Al Colombo, WMD Publisher. “Keep an eye on the section under the HOT button about mid week and you will see new clips and news appear in that section.”

Masked Man Opens Fire At A McDonald’s. Heroic Pistol-Packing Dad Ends Him

Masked Man Opens Fire At A McDonald’s. Heroic Pistol-Packing Dad Ends Him | #TpromoCom #McDonalds #Gunman #Shooter | “This is how it’s supposed to go down. A gunman enters, a CCW licensed citizen pulls his or her revolver and stop said gunman from killing innocent people–period!” says Al Colombo, a 45-year security professional. “Unlike so many other shooter stories, this one had a happy ending. End of story!”

A masked gunman who opened fire in an Alabama McDonald’s restaurant on Saturday night was met with gunfire that ended his life from a pistol-packing father, a man who’s been rightly praised as a hero by store employees.

According to WBRC-TV, an armed man wearing a mask entered the Birmingham McDonald’s when an employee opened the front door for a father and his sons to leave the establishment. When the masked man opened fire, the father pulled out his pistol and began firing at the suspect.

Editor’s Note: The Sheriff’s list is commonly used among crime prevention experts. There’s some good ones there for sure, but the one that was not included that is probably the most important is this, “Be aware of your immediate surroundings at all times.” You should be aware of those around you, what they are doing, and pay particular attention to instinct–if you feel in danger, move now!  –Al Colombo
