Locked out of the house, #teen knocked on grandpa’s window. He opened fire, #police say | #ESC_LLC #Gun #Death | “Such a horrible thing to happen to anyone. It is such a tragedy for the victim but especially for her daughter and her grandfather who mistakenly killed her,” says John Larkin, Senior Partner with ESC of Greater Ohio. “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.” http://ow.ly/cqqv30lrFqv
Editor’s Note: What a tragedy. No one ever expects to have something like this happen in a situation such as this. I can only imagine the pain and torment that the victim’s grandfather is going through.  No one can begin to imagine what this might feel like. It’s a situation that should never have happened if grandpa’s weapons had been secured properly. Perhaps the right answer is that grandpa should have been  trained on the use of a firearm. No one should fire through a door or window without provocation, and I see no provocation here. –Al Colombo

Residents and visitors will soon see free, fast, public Wi-Fi in Perry Square, as well as a video surveillance system in the park that can alert law enforcement to potential threats.

In addition, energy-efficient LED lights are planned for 66 existing utility poles downtown, a move that could lower city utility costs.

The technology upgrades in the area encompassing State Street, between Sixth and 12th streets, could expand citywide someday, based on community feedback and available funding.

The council is asking City Hall for $100 million to install cameras next year in some of the 500-plus schools that do not have video surveillance.

Councilman Paul Vallone (D-Queens), who lobbied Speaker Corey Johnson’s office to include the ask in the council’s fiscal year 2019 budget request sent to Mayor de Blasio’s office earlier this month, said the cameras go hand-in-hand with his proposal to lock all school entrances.

Shooting at YouTube Offices Wounds 3; Suspect Is Dead  | #TpromoCom #YouTube #Shooting #Video #Shooter | A woman opened fire with a handgun at YouTube’s headquarters in California on Tuesday afternoon, shooting three people — one of whom was critically injured — before killing herself, the authorities said.

The San Bruno Police Department identified the attacker late Tuesday as Nasim Najafi Aghdam, who was in her late 30s. The motivation for the shootings was under investigation, the police said, although her social media postings included criticisms of YouTube.

“I’m not condoning this criminal action at YouTube’s HQ, but this company has devastated many a video creator’s career through selfish changes in the firm’s formula for advertising money,” says Al Colombo, Senior Design Specialist with TpromoCom of Canton, Ohio. “Although it’s not always a fact, but when you treat people good, they’re going to treat you good, too.”
