Tango PoE Driven Power Supply/Charger Series with Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery

Tango PoE Driven Power Supply/Charger Series with Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Backup | #TpromoCom #Altronix #Battery #POE | is an industry game-changing power solution that allows 12VDC and 24VDC devices to be powered simultaneously via 802.3bt PoE input.

Altronix Tango POE Power (image)Unlike Hi-PoE (60W), IEEE 802.3bt, also known as 4PPoE or 4-Pair PoE, uses all four pairs of wire in a structured cable to evenly distribute power. This new standard allows manufacturers of powered devices to design new products with power hungry features such as PTZ cameras w/ IR illuminators and heaters & blowers for harsh environments and more.

There are several sources for PoE injectors that can supply 4PPoE for Tango, such as Altronix NetWay Midspans which are available in single port or multi-port options, which eliminates the need for multiple individual power injectors for larger projects.

Featuring: Industrial 75W and 95W Power over Ethernet (POE++) Midspan Injector for 10/100/1000TX

Industrial 75W and 95W Power over Ethernet (POE++) Midspan Injector for 10/100/1000TX (image)Featuring: Industrial 75W and 95W Power over Ethernet (POE++) Midspan Injector for 10/100/1000TX | #TpromoCom #POE #MidstreamInjector #Power  | The ComNet CNGE1IPSXXAC series consists of industrial Power over Ethernet midspan injection modules that inject 50-57 VDC at to any network cable.

Operating power and 10/100/1000TX Ethernet data are easily combined on one cable, eliminating the need to install additional power outlets and electrical cabling. The CNGE1IPS95 is fully compliant with the requirements of IEEE 802.3at for Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), and features auto detection of powered devices (PDs).

Transmission distances of up to 328 feet (100 meters) are supported, and this injector supplies operating power for PDs drawing a maximum of 75 and/or 95 watts (model dependent). Ideally suited to fiber optic, wireless, or other networks where it may be difficult to furnish operating power to the PDs, the CNGE1IPSXXAC series offers a true plug-and-play product requiring no user configuration or other set-up.

NEC Developing Facial Recognition Platform for Star Alliance Frequent Flyers

facial recognition, FAA, airlines (image)#NEC Developing Facial Recognition Platform for Star Alliance Frequent Flyers | #TpromoCom #FacialRecognition #Airline #Security | The opt-in platform will allow passengers of Star Alliance’s member airlines to move through various checkpoints without the need for a passport or a boarding pass, using only biometric authentication to enter lounges or pass through boarding gates and check-in kiosks at participating airports.

The proposed system is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2020. Star Alliance members will be able to let their passengers use a mobile device to enroll in the program, and the latter will only need to do so once to enable biometric authentication when flying with any Star Alliance airline at an airport that supports the biometric technology.

Comcast and ADT keynote 24th annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference

Comcast and ADT keynote 24th annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference | #TpromoCom #Parks #ADT #Comcaset | Nearly 60% of smart home device owners prefer to control their devices via an app on their smartphone

Parks Associates today announced executives from Comcast and ADT will deliver keynotes at the firm’s 24th annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, May 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in San Francisco, California. They will join a lineup that includes ANGI Homeservices/Handy and Vivint Smart Home, addressing business models, new technologies, and partnerships impacting the growth of solutions for consumers at home.

Noopur Davis, EVP, Chief Product and Information Security Officer, Comcast, and Bob Kupbens, President, Chief Strategy and Product Officer, ADT, will address ways to leverage connectivity in the home through partnerships, product integrations, and new solutions that create a valuable experience for consumers while also addressing data privacy and security. Oisin Hanrahan, Chief Product Officer, ANGI Homeservices; Co-founder & CEO, Handy, and Jim Nye, Chief Product Operations Officer, Vivint Smart Home, are also presenting keynotes at the executive conference.

Early sponsors include Alarm.com, Rapid Response Monitoring, Cirrent, Everise, Firedome, Intellithings, MMB Networks, PassiveBolt, Z-Wave, Zen Ecosystems, Aprilaire, Sprosty Network, Wi-Charge, Gadgeon, and Inspire.

Parks Associates’ research finds nearly 60% of smart home device owners prefer to control these devices via an app on their smartphone. Among these, 31% express a preference for an app that controls a single device, while 28% prefer an app that can control all smart home devices.

“Companies can extend the value of smart home solutions for consumers by extending benefits throughout the home,” said Elizabeth Parks, President, Parks Associates. “At CONNECTIONS™, we welcome industry leaders from all areas of the consumer technology ecosystems to discuss strategies to extend value to the consumer and build on today’s leading business models.”

Parks Associates notes that top players are pursuing the goal of enhancing consumer value and engagement through three different strategies.

“The three main strategies are custom smart home controller installation, a cooperative platform by a service provider, and DIY products such as voice-based platforms,” Parks said. “Companies like Control4, Josh.ai, and Savant provide a premium service with a custom smart home controller that can control virtually all devices through a single app. Service providers such as Alarm.com, Vivint, and Comcast are leveraging their existing platforms in the home. Finally, many manufacturers are deploying voice-based platforms, like the Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, which are having an enormous impact on the ability to control and manage different devices in the home.”
