Christian Kight used his computer programming skills to hack into various businesses for money while on parole for previous crimes. Kight downloaded scripts from hacker forums and used them to attack company networks.
In the case of the Atlanta company, Kight spent a few weeks hacking into the company’s network, using various tactics to hide his identity. He then downloaded the data to his own computer and deleted it from the company’s systems.

Recent reports indicate there are over 5.6 million electric vehicles (EVs) worldwide, representing a full 64 percent increase from the same time period in 2018—and the second consecutive record growth year in the zero emissions transport market. With this progression comes commensurate concern over inadequate public EV charging infrastructure. So, it’s not surprising that the Department of Energy (DOE) indicates drivers do more than 80 percent of their EV automobile charging at home. However, even amid the extreme conveniences of doing so at-home, a multitude of safety, technological and affordability problems persist.
As one case in point, the DOE underscores a problem for Level 1 or 2 EVSE home charging, advising that consumers “should store the charging cord securely so it is not damaged,” indicating possible scenarios that may put charging cables and cords at risk of suffering abuse like “being run over by a car.” Other more ominous reports indicate that drivers charging vehicles at home are taking dangerous risks relating to electrocution and fire like “‘daisy-chaining’—using multiple extension leads plugged into one another—to reach their car.”
That report also highlights a survey among electric vehicle owners—including both all-electric and hybrids—finding that the vast majority (a whopping 74 percent) of respondents admit to using “domestic multi-socket extension leads, not suitable for outdoor use, to charge from the mains in their home. This is despite almost nine out of 10 respondents admitting they were aware these should not be used outdoors.” It goes on to reveal that “over half of electric vehicle users who charge using an extension lead, meanwhile, said they had left cables running to their vehicle in the rain.”
Explosion and the leakage of electrolyte chemicals from batteries are among other reported EV charging perils beyond electrocution and fire. Further exacerbating fears, GreenCarReports.com published eye-opening revelations that “not every home charging station on sale in the U.S. has received third-party safety certification,” and that “many charging stations sold on Amazon are not safety tested,” according to a recent investigation by Charged EVs.

OPINION:Many years ago I wrote an opinion piece for the ISIO where I described intrusion detection/security at some future time. Here it is in a nutshell: 1) Cameras will be wireless, 2) they’ll be peel and stick, 3) they will provide a 360 forward view, 4) you can choose your view in software.
Secondly, there will be no switches on doors or motion detection. There will be no access control card readers, no smartphone entry options, etc. Traditional security will be replaced by video surveillance systems that uses AI with facial recognition. Anyone approaching the door who is known by the system, authorized at that door and that time period will be automatically granted access. Tailgating also will be handled by the AI portion of the system.
After hours, someone breaking into the facility will be met by an alarm and the perpetrator will be investigated by a roving mobile unit equipped with audio and video. Police (if they will exist) will be alerted straight away.
Those that press a button on a door speaker will have an opportunity to converse with the AI in an attempt to ascertain who they are and what they want. If they proceed to pry the door open, jimmy the lock, etc., the police will be notified and an alarm will sound locally.
Incidentally, if the Left is successful in having all law enforcement defunded and removed from protecting our communities; after the murders, rapes, robberies and other crimes rise sharply, police will be brought back to protect the innocent. OPINION: Eliminating Local Police Agencies Across America
With all the anti-police rhetoric going on with certain individuals in government and in the private sector, I’d like to remind everyone how important and critical it is to have quality police officers on the job in our communities.
I’m more than tired of hearing city officials and others degrade the need for law enforcement. I cannot even imagine what life would be like in our communities without police on the streets. Yes, there are a few bad applies, but look at the goofy city officials who are calling for the defunding of police departments in their own cities! Talk about bad apples, they are certainly rotten to the core.
Police shows being cancelled, schools calling for the revocation of contracts with police officers in our public schools, where does it stop? If Sheriffs and local city Police Chiefs were to offer firearm training for school officials, the very same communities would say no to that. We talk about Black Lives Matter, what about our children? What about store owners?
If regular, common people that can still think clearly do not stand up and support our law enforcement agencies, we’re going to one day soon turn around and find total chaos and anarchy in their absence. We can all start by voicing support online. That’s the very least we can do!
In my humble opinion, after decades of study, I believe that local and state authorities now calling for the defunding of local law enforcement may intend to call upon the United Nations to provide law and order in their communities.
