Short Personal Commentaries

TITLE: Bush meets with commission, says no to exit plan
DESCRIPTION: As Bush met with the Iraq Study Group, a 10-member panel headed by former Secretary of State James Baker III and former Democratic Rep. Lee Hamilton, the Democrat in line to lead the Senate Armed Services Committee, Carl Levin of Michigan, said the administration didn't see that "we're getting deeper and deeper into a hole." Levin and other Democrats called for some troops to come home right away, suggesting that would pressure the Iraqi government into assuming more responsibility.
COMMENT: I would have thought that Vietnam would have taught the American people something. First of all, I was not for going into Afghanistan or Iraq, especially the latter. However, once you are into such a situation, it is your obligation to follow through and finish what you start. Unfortunately the Democrats have become the "cut and run" party, or at least they appear to be now. When the situation gets tough, everyone knows that the tough simply gets going and gets it done and over with.
If the new Democrats in the House have it their way, America will CUT AND RUN!!!
If the Democrats do this, they will further the world's view of America as a nation of piss-ants that NEVER FINISH WHAT THEY START!!
If this were to lead us to another 9/11 tradegy, everyone will know who's responsible! The CUT AND RUN PARTY--The Democrats!

TITLE: Dividing Light From Darkness
DESCRIPTION: "And The Lord [see YHVH, Adonai, Jehovah, LORD] said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings." (Exodus 10:21-23 KJV) (see also The Ten Plagues)
COMMENT: Can you begin to imagine a darkness that is so thick that no one can see one another? We cannot ever imagine this as you and I have always had available some means of lighting to show us the way. Lighting gives us encouragement, even at night by way of the moon. God was wise when He put this together. Jesus actually did the construction for Christ told us via His Word that he layed the foundations of this place. He said he knew us before he layed the foundations of Earth. Think of a darkness that is so thick that you cannot see ANYTHING!!
Praise be to God, the Most High and His Most Holy Son, Jesus!
     Amen

TITLE: Dividing Light From Darkness
COMMENT: Amen. Some of the people living now, have lived before and those that will live in the future are/have/and will live life in the dark Sometimes I think that we get so caught up in the day to day routine that we really don't take time out to enjoy or experience life. That is why we yearn for the past where it was a simpler time, a more innocent time, and time of reflection. How could anyone be closer to nature (God's work) than walking through the fields, woods and just feeling the wind and sun on our faces, looking to the stars and just sitting down and talking. We rush through life in darkness without thanking Him for all that He has given us. Sometimes I am ashamed that I forget to pray or get so busy that I don't give thanks. That to me is figuratively living in darkness. As far as Moses stretching forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days, I would imagine that is what blind people experience. It must have been very disconcerting to say the least. No matter what power man has produced, it is nothing compared to God but many don't seem to realize this. Sorry to ramble. God Bless You! My brother.

TITLE: The Well To Hell
DESCRIPTION: Scientists drilling in Siberia went too far and ended up punching a hole through to Hell, where the screams of the damned drifted up to them. If there is a Hell under Siberia, scientists have yet to discover it. What we have here is an enthralling legend that's been spun off an actual event.
COMMENT: I can tell you one thing, this particular hoax as you have explained it is exactly as it was decades ago when I first heard it and not a single fact is out of place my friend. U must be aware, and I'm sure you are, that ANYTHING that proves that there is a HELL or a DEVIL will automatically be discredited by Lucifer himself as it's for sure he does not want ANYONE to think there is either a hell or a devil, for once they come that far it's only a short hop to the realization that if there's a devil, then there's a God. I doubt the rumor is correct, but I'm not so ready to dismiss just because an atheist says it's not so. Al

TITLE: HOUSE (and SENATE) CLEANING: The Mark Foley Incident
DESCRIPTION: I am greatly amused by the chain of events that led to the revelation that Rep. Mark Foley (R) had apparently sent sexually oriented e-mail messages to a male page assigned to the House of Representatives. Could this be the big “October surprise” promised by our wonderful friends in the Democrat party? You bet it is! --Gary Miller
COMMENT: I couldn't agree more. It's so shameful for a Congressman to act in that manner, let alone the fact that the people of this nation electing a gay person to such a trusted post in gov't. But, how do you discern gay from "normal," if there's such a thing anymore. Unfortunately for our children, the press and their teachers are telling them that heterosexuality is abnormal, and they're doing that by telling them that it's okay and normal to be homosexual. This "anything goes" attitude is killing our country.
As far as "the surprise" and the Democrats are concerned, they're certainly trying to force as many Republicans out the door before the election as possible. Not only is this suppose to pave the way by virtue of the vacancies themselves, but it's also suppose to appeal to the vast majority of this nation who are heterosexual and who disagree with gaydom, especially in gov't.
My personal opinion, partially stated in the first paragraph above, includes the thought that "they're nuts!" Just because Senator Foley is gay and did something wrong is not enough reason to throw all Republicans under the bus. That is about as nuts as disbanding a PTA organization at a grade school because one of the mothers had an affair with one of the teachers. --Al

TITLE: Democrats Kill Parental-Rights Bill as Senate Session Adjourns
DESCRIPTION: Pro-life groups are lamenting the demise of a piece of legislation they say is supported by 80 percent of Americans -- a bill that would have required a minor girl's parents to be informed before she had an abortion, and that would have punished individuals who transported a minor across state lines for an abortion in order to circumvent parental notification laws in the girl's home state.
COMMENT: It never fails to amaze me regarding the lack of common sense and decency within the Democrat(ic) party. Here we have a simple bill that could assure the rights of the parents with regards to abortion and their young minor daughter(s) and the Democrats see to it that it fails.
You know what's (not so) funny about all of this? When a child of a Democrat becomes pregnant and they seek an abortion without their consent, they will suddenly see the entire issue from another perspective.
Where does the parent's rights begin and leave off? If it's the parents who are legally responsible for the actions of their young minor daughters, then the State should recognize the right of the parents to regulate the minor once they find themselves in trouble and in need of help.
I was once married to a lady who had had an abortion as a teen of 19. I can recall the tears that she shed every now and again, especially when our son died at the age of 2 months old. She was convinced that God had gotten even with her because she had killed her first child, even though it was her father and mother who pushed her to do it.
Lady's and gentlemen, girls and boys, the proper solution here is not to get into this situation in the first place. But, for those girls who do, you need to turn to your parents for help. If they can't help you... if they're more child-like than you are, then turn to your local church or a Crisis Pregnancy organization who understand your situation and who will do more than just yank a new life out from under you.

TITLE: Fingerprinting Students
DESCRIPTION: How difficult can it be to tell today’s school pupils apart? The question arises because a row has broken out after it was revealed that fingerprinting has been adopted in some areas as a means of identity for the likes of the school library.
COMMENT: When and if the brunt of our public schools begin to use fingerprinting combined with access control and point-of-sale computing, those who offer supervision and educational content will naturally divert identification to the "system" rather than to their own minds. After all, why duplicate the process of tracking who is who when the "system" will do it for you?
But, how sad this will be for our young students as they come to be known as merely a number within the "system" and how unimportant they are bound to feel themselves to be.
In my personal opinion, those who seek to impliment such tactics are no better than the mindless devices they seek to institutionalize.

TITLE: Is this about Moral Obligation or is this about Money?
DESCRIPTION: It appears that the Federal Trade Commision issued a report recently that spoke harshly of Hollywood, as well as several other industries that cater to violence and smut. The report allegedly says that these concerns consciously target young people in their marketing efforts. Apparently the Senate is launching a committee hearing in which they will take up the issue, although the USA Today said that the Senate has no intentions of forcing anything other than voluntary code compliance.
COMMENT: I fully agree with the author of this story, Hollywood is working hard to capture the minds of our youngsters. The question is, in what way are they capturing them? Good programming captures them in a good, sound, wholesome manner. Ah, but programming with violence and smut at its core captures their minds in a bad, corrupt, immoral manner. Please take time to read this article, penned by yours truly in the year 2000 and carried on the Surf-In-The-Spirit network.

TITLE: From Ideals and a Sorely Sought Utopia to Reality
DESCRIPTION: Does anyone Know whatever happened to the original members of the group (The New Christy Minstrels)? Other than Barry McGuire, where are the rest of them today? I think I read in one of the new double CD re-issues that my all time favorite member Nick Woods, died of an accidental drug overdose. Is that true? Hard to believe he did drugs. I think it said he died in 1972. Hope some one can answer my question! Thanks
COMMENT: What a rush from the past. How well I remember this group and the wonderful songs they produced. Folk music was my passion as a teenager having lived during the 1950s as a wee lad. I also came to love the ideals and liberal thoughts that flowed freely from so many folk groups of that era.
How I'd like to return to those times--but alas, I grew up. It was in the early 1990s while in the middle of my 40s that I suddenly realized that there can be no ideal life while on Earth. It was then that I gave up my search of a Utopia that can never exist on Earth.
For that, I've suffered, but reality is warmer than illusive ideals that can never come to pass.
As much as I would like to have continued with my belief and desire for a socialized America, the fact is, the common man is contained in the center of a global fight for control by factions of Elites who really don't care about the ideals they tout, but more about the power a select few seek.
When will mankind wake up and come to realize that both the far right and far left have adopted their own toxic agendas that will prove fatal to so many in the finale?

TITLE: Reading the Enemy's Mind
DESCRIPTION: “The U.S. embassy in Moscow, which had largely been constructed by Russian contractors, was one target [of gov’t remote viewing efforts]. Center Lane results confirmed the existence of listening devices in the walls of the building,” says Paul H. Smith, the author of Reading the Enemy’s Mind (pg 152) and a retired Army intelligence officer and Operation Desert Storm veteran. Smith spent seven years in the DoD’s remote viewing program.
COMMENT: I wonder how many people actually believe in "remote viewing," let alone the idea that the tainted embassy in Moscow was discovered by a group of remote viewers under contract with the Department of Army. What exactly is remote viewing? To put it into my own words, it’s the ability to see things at a distance using human technology vs. material technology. Although it could be compared to clairvoyance, the use of scientific methodology to execute and manage this phenomena in a quasi-laboratory environment makes it distinctly different.
Do I personally believe that remote viewing or clairvoyance exist? My simple answer is yes. My more complicated answer is, “not for everyone.”
Well, actually everyone has the mechanism necessary to make either of them happen, but only a relatively small percentage of human beings are able to consciously use it. But they tell me that most human beings can be taught how to do either of them.
Have I personally ever had such an experience? It’s possible, but I would rather think that when information is imparted to my puny human brain that it is made to happen 1) for a specific reason, and 2) by an intelligence far in advance of our own. In other words, I do not seek to accomplish such things. When and if an event should occur, it’s purely the result of a power higher than myself.
If you have an interest in this subject matter, I would suggest going to go.com and put the search term “remote viewing” in the search field and press enter. Your screen will be flooded with search results. Remember, not all of them are good ones.

TITLE: Loss of Oil Field Puts Pressure on Price
DESCRIPTION: ANCHORAGE, Alaska Aug 8, 2006 (AP)— BP's decision to shut down the nation's biggest oil field roiled oil markets, putting pressure on prices at the pump during the peak summer driving season and prompting the government to consider dipping into its emergency stockpile.
COMMENT: For those of you who are in the fall to winter of your life, think back through your life and tell me, can you think of a time when there was so much open corruption and greed in business and certain aspects of gov't? Think back through as much of your past as possible.

  1. First, my personal opinion is that gov't should do the right thing, go back to regulating utilities who fail to keep public interest in mind when structuring their fees.
  2. Second, gov't should consider a utility-like classification that petroleum companies would fit into and then regulate them with public interest in mind.
I'm not a socialist by any means, now that I've grown up and all, but petroleum companies do not have public interest at heart. Because society in and outside the U.S. depends on petroleum, and because these firms, despite their record profits, have routinely made it very clear they will do all they can to maximize profits (one petroleum leader came out publicly and said this), the Congress needs to take a SERIOUS look at their tax status and how gov't views these corporations. Perhaps it's time to switch oars in the water and turn them into utilities of sort, which would mean they'd have to walk a narrow path.
  3. Third, I think it's high time that states set a maximum ceiling beyond which gas prices are not permitted to pass. To go beyond this point, petroleum firms should be made to document profit and loss, allowing state auditors to examine their books, perhaps federal auditors as well.
It's fairly obvious that BP made this move to maximize their own profitability. I know that I will not darken the lot of a BP station until that pipeline is restored and gasoline prices return to the already unreasonable level they were at before today.
It's time that gov't serve the people that pays its way. This is the best way to do that.

TITLE: Too much attention on Mel Gibson
DESCRIPTION: SIOUX CITY -- Concerning all of the controversy concerning Mel Gibson and his arrest for DUI, doesn't anyone think that all of humanity has more to worry about? With all the tragedy in the world, I think that we would be better served to try to find solutions to take care of world hunger, diseases, war and many others than to put so much energy into Mel Gibson.

-- Carl Christensen
COMMENT: I don't know Mel Gibson, but I do know that his ideals and beliefs put him at odds with the very Hollywood that has made him great, so to speak. In a word, he's a Christian. Do you think for one moment that a DUI arrest and the subsequent comments of a drunk Hollywood player would "normally" become the focus of an entire nation?
I think that Christensen of Sioux City has it entirely right. This incident serves two purposes, first to make Gibson look cheap, dirty, and to make as many people think ill of him as possible. The second purpose that it serves is to take your attention away from things that do matter--things that some folks would rather you not notice.
Your job, if you should accept it, is to look around you and find out what those things are and whom those folks might be. The real question is, do you have the courage to do that?

TITLE: Internet Services Scan Hard Drives for Illegal Software
DESCRIPTION: About ten years ago, while attending the International Security Conference, I went to a seminar on protecting data on the Internet. One of the speakers was from a popular software manufacturer who also owns a popular Internet service. At that time he claimed that his employer looked in on people's hard drive for illegal software. "All we look at is the file names and nothing else," he told the crowd.
COMMENT: I believe that software manufacturers have the right to assure that their software is not illegally being applied or used by unauthorized individuals, but I also believe that these Internet services need to let people know that they're doing it, and not only in the fine print.
It's only a matter of time until they become more bold, scaning the data there as well. Perhaps under the pretense of scanning for virus files.
Take a look at the item behind the following link for a good example of how Internet services are scanning your hard drive. Perhaps the application is legitimate, but only the software and Internet service provider really know that.

TITLE: Microsoft Spyware
COMMENT: I checked for updates for my Windows XP the other day, and there were 5 downloads for my PC. When I clicked on the button to start the downloads, a "Terms and Agreement" menu poped up. So I read it, and did NOT like what I read. The software that used to just check to see if your copy of XP was legal, now wants to check all your User Settings, Favorites, CMOS settings, third party software, and more.
I clicked on the button that said [I Decline] to accept the terms, thinking that might terminate all the downloads, but it allowed the other four upgrades, and cancelled only the spy ware. If you have not done the XP upgrade this month, check the details of the terms before you complete the downloads.
The spy ware update is titled: Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)
I had been downloading this file previously, but when my ZoneAlarm firewall gave me a pop-up that said it was trying to access the Internet, I blocked it. But now I don't have to download and install it anymore. Screw you, Bill Gates!!!
Microsoft must have been forced to offer the "terms" and option pop-up by some sort of legal action, I would guess. But most people don't bother to read the terms when they install new software, and blow right on through it to get the job done quickly... as I have done most of the time, but this time I smelled a rat, so I read the whole thing.
Check it out when you do your next Windows XP update, and see if you come to the same conclusion.

TITLE: More Secret White House Intel
DESCRIPTION: "We can't be briefed on every little thing that they are doing," Hoekstra said. "But in this case, there was at least one major -- what I consider significant activity that we have not been briefed on. I want to set the standard there that it is not optional for this president or any president or people in the executive community not to keep the intelligence committees fully informed of what they are doing," said Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Michigan, regarding another recent revelation regarding the Bush White House failing to notify House and Senate intelligence committees of another covert op.
COMMENT: Truth be known, it is my personal opinion that there are times when a sitting president must make tough decisions regarding field operations. This may include not telling the Congress about every little thing.
The fact is, the Capital building has historically had a habit of leaking at the seams. When this happens, our enemies know just as much about our covert ops as the Congress does.
Does this give the president the right to keep such information from special committees, like the house and senate intel committees? I'm not smart enough to really comment on that, but I can comment on the habit of journalists to place the nation and its people in harms way by disclosing covert ops before they know whether such a disclosure might cause undo harm.
If the AP (Associated Press) or any other news organization is willing to do their homework on an issue before putting pen to paper, and if they are willing to put political bias aside, and if it's found that such a disclosure will not do undo harm to this nation, then perhaps they have the right to tell members of the public about it. But, my thoughts are that the responsible thing to do is to take such a matter to one or two committee members for comment.
The bottom line, how can a journalist know for sure what the results will be of such a disclosure unless they get the enlightened opinion of someone who works in that area on a daily basis?

TITLE: NEA Delegates Accept Resolution Endorsing Same-Sex 'Marriage'
DESCRIPTION: The president of the Alabama Education Association had asked that the resolution supporting legal homosexual unions be referred back to the Resolutions Committee. The NEA Resolutions Committee earlier had deleted a controversial amendment to its "Diversity" policy (known as B-8), which would have comprehensively endorsed same-sex marriage. Consequently, the Alabama delegate's request would have left the union without a homosexual marriage resolution for the upcoming school year. But NEA delegates voted not to refer the resolution, and then voted to accept the resolution.
COMMENT: Wow! Do you know what this means? It means that the NEA has openly voted to support the open endorsement of same-sex marriages, as they already support homosexuality. It is my personal thought that any organization in charge of student's education should not endorse anything so controversial to traditional and majority values as this is.
How would homosexuals like it if pro-heterosexual teachers openly taught against homosexuality in the classroom? Frankly, these issues DO NOT belong in the classroom, not even in any remote manner, as subtle as it could be put. It is the parent's place to teach their children sexual preferences.
I've said this time and time again, it's a good thing for all those who endorse homosexuality that their parents were not homosexual. If they were, those who support homosexuality would not be here to support and perform the most ungodly acts that go along with it. I suggest you read this for yourself.
If you disagree with me, send me an e-mail. Let me know if you wish to have your thoughts published on the site. Otherwise, we'll talk about it in private.

TITLE: Petition to Protect Military Prayer
DESCRIPTION: "Over the last six months, the drive to force military chaplains to pray 'nonsectarian' prayers has reached a fever pitch. No branch of the military guarantees the right of chaplains to pray according to their own faith" (Petition to Protect Military Prayer , Reclaiming America for Christ).
COMMENT: One of the deceptions of Satan, the old devil, is that the Church of Jesus Christ will grow and prosper by joining rank with the world at large. We saw it when an international group of Christian churches came to the conclusion that God can save just as well as Christ, and so in order to bring more people in the World to salvation, it would be prudent to remove Christ from the equation of salvation.
The fact is, God has already told us in the Book of John that He will not judge men, but rather His only Son, Jesus, will judge because He earned the right to do so. He earned it by the shedding of His blood.
A certain then Bishop of the Roman Catholic church once wrote an opinion that stated that Christians are subject to Christ for salvation, but that non-Christians fall under God himself who can provide salvation as desired. Perhaps this was merely a way of silencing Int'l discent against the Christian message, but it is not right by way of God's written Word by way of John's writings.
In the end times, World Government will seek to standardize all religions, forcing all ministers of the Word to either bow to a stripped down lie or lose their pastoral license. Is this just another policy designed to further that agenda? I'm not entirely sure it is, for perhaps it's merely an effort to be politically correct. Either way, it's wrong and needs to be fixed.

TITLE: Good Comment
COMMENT: Your July 07, 2006 blog entry...

"Petition to Protect Military Prayer" correctly identified the deceptions of Satan to unite all churches, as well as all governments to attain his (Satan's) New World Order.

2 Peter:2:2:
"And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."

Will America wake up in time to allow our Lord to sweep this land clean again? I doubt it. But He surely wants us to wake up. The Holy Spirit is grieving over our sin. But when our Father God finally says, enough is enough, and pulls the Holy Spirit out of the Earth, then literally, "all Hell will break loose on Earth." And as we know, those who have rejected Jesus will be condemned to eternal torture in Hell.

I'll keep praying for one more mass revival to sweep this once Christian land, while making sure that my soul is prepared and bound for heaven. AMEN!

TITLE: Lay's Death Complicates Efforts to Seize Assets
DESCRIPTION: "Lawyers involved in the civil lawsuits, however, have already signaled that they were more interested in seeking compensation from institutions with deeper pockets that may have profited from improper dealings with Enron, like Wall Street investment banks, rather than focusing on Mr. Lay" (Lay's Death Complicates Efforts to Seize Assets, The New York Times; July 6, 2006).
COMMENT: Quite obviously there is more to this story than meets the eye. Yes, Lay was a rich man, but he was also a used man--used by powerful people with much deeper pockets than Ken Lay had. We're talking about very wealthy bankers and such.
I think the most telling statement of the NY Times article was told by an anonymous source conected with the legal effort to recoup hundreds of th ousands of dollars from Lay: "The family at the end of the day cannot sit on the fruits of the fraud." But, this person said: "Even if the verdict is nullified, he paid for his actions with his life. That is more tragic" (Source: same NYT article).
Does that mean he was wasted to preserve the integrity of those bigger fish in the sea? I doubt it, but others may try to make more out of it than was intended. I think it points to the fact that the trial and fall from success was too much for Lay and he had a heart attack. End of story.

TITLE: Fingerprints Pay For School Lunch
DESCRIPTION: "A fingerprint identification program used in three Pennsylvania school districts allows pupils to pay for chicken nuggets, sloppy Joes, pizza and other cafeteria delicacies without ever carrying cash.
"Students place their index fingers on small scanners, and a template matches them with their electronic print. The program plots 27 points on a grid that correspond with the fingerprint's ridges" (Fingerprints Pay For School Lunch, CBS News [see link below]).
COMMENT: It appears that those who work at these schools have been less than understanding as a number of children declined inclusion in the biometric fingerprint program. For example, in the CBS report, the cafeteria manger quipped, "They think the FBI's going to get them or something." It is quite obvious that those children who declined did so with the encouragement of their parents. It is still the parent's right to raise their children by their own personal values, and this includes relgious beliefs and ideals. Just because the school administrator or the cafeteria manager may not believe St. John's Revelations or the very words of Jesus Christ makes no difference. When we, as a nation, come to the point where the spiritual "have nots" rule over the spiritual "haves," this country will then have officially slipped to the bottom of the thick, sticky can of socialism.

TITLE: Superman, the Int'l Gay Man
DESCRIPTION: "Nevermind Superman's sexual orientation. Here's another identity-related question that is likely to spark controversy as the Man of Steel soars into theaters nationwide this Fourth of July weekend in Warner Bros. Pictures' "Superman Returns": Is Superman still American?" (The Holleywood Reporter, www.hollywoodreporter.com)
COMMENT: More and more we're seeing Hollywood deviate from traditional values in their content to more deviate behavior being acted out on the movie screen and in our living rooms and family rooms. The sad fact is that the creators of the original Superman, artist Joe Shuster and writer Jerry Siegel (1932), never intended for this super hero to represent unAmerican values, no less representing the "gay" community. In the words of my good friend, Gary Miller, "For those of you who have children, grandchildren or know those who do, please advise them to save their money, and boycott the new Superman movie."
