Freelance journalist, David Brock, recently apologized to President Clinton for writing a story in 1993 that opened the issue of the president's sexual exploits. Among the reasons for his change of heart is the alleged fact that the four state troopers, who originally claimed that it was their job to find women for their boss, then governor, Bill Clinton, have since proven themselves less than credible. Brock stated that it appeard that they may have wanted money for their stories. Well, whether they did or not, does any of this really matter?
Let me say up front that I do not have any reason to dislike Bill Clinton, I've never met him. In fact, there are certain qualities that President Clinton has that I do like. However, I believe that everyone, or perhaps the media, has lost sight of what the real issue is here. It is not whether the president routinely has sex in or about the Oval Office in the White House. The real issues here are: obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and perjury.
Regarding impeachment, I have heard that a group in California is drafting a resolution in which they intend to impeach both President Clinton and Vice President Gore. I do not think that this would be a good move. Perhaps it would be better to allow Mr. Clinton to remain, providing Congress enact legislation that would prevent any further degradation of Constitutional Rights and no more appointees. I'm no expert on Constitutional Law or what Congress can and cannot do, but removing both the President and Vice President does not seem like a good move. In all the chaos, if there is an enemy, and if he were going to strike, it would certainly be then!!
