The other week, while talking with one of my friends in the flesh, I expressed disappointment in the fact that Americans, in general, appear to be unwilling to look at "the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
He said to me, "Did it ever occur to you that people just don't want to know this stuff?"
"Why?" I asked, sincerely wanting to know..
"Perhaps because if they did know the truth they would feel obligated to do something about it," he said.
"Well, what's wrong with that?" I asked.
"Most people feel helpless to do anything about it. After all, what can we do to fix these problems?" He finished.
May I say in all sincerity that it gives this author absolutely no pleasure to provide our readers with material that involves topics like today's Daily Commentary (Frame-Up & Cover-Up; Letters From a Donald Hogan). However, if there happens to be even an ounce of truth in any of it, shouldn't we face it head on? Shouldn't we demand the truth? Or, is it better that we continue to pretend that things cannot be as bad as all that?
What does Jehovah say about Truth in His Word?
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation will GOD appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
But foremost, Jehovah gives us the cure for all the problems that sickens society:
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
