When Jahovah Sanctions War

There are those who believe that "war" is wrong no matter where, when, and under what circumstances that it occurs. Although I am not in favor of causing "war" for personal gain or national interests (based on "want of wealth" and not "need of protection"), I maintain that "war" is justified when the order comes from the Most High, He that created all of what we see and cannot see. In support of my statement, I submit the following passage from the OLD TESTAMENT.

Deuteronomy 7:1-13

7:1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

7:3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

7:4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

7:5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

7:8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

7:10 And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

7:11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

7:13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

Perhaps we should apply this to today's world.

Perhaps the portion of this passage that caught my attention was that as related to the destruction of other peoples of other religions that do not hold God in high esteem. To those people, he ordered His people, the Jewish People, to utterly destroy them, their Alters and their very way of life. He ordered them to have nothing to do with them politically;

He told them not to negotiate politically, not to make concessions, not to make agreements-but to destroy them in total. Why?

7:4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

So the answer he gave was these people would destroy the Jews as well as their practice of faith in God. I ask you, could these passages set down in Deuteronomy provide the reason why the Western world should do battle with those who practice the Islamic faith-called Muslims? Could God endorse the destruction of Muslims based on Deuteronomy Chapter 7?

No! I do not believe that this passage can be used in this way. It is because those who practice Islam firmly believe in the Most High as well, although they may call Him by another name. They believe in one God just as Jews and Christians.

Perhaps the justification for war, if there is one under God, is related to the issue of radical Muslim factions who would go one step further with their belief by adding the caveat that Jews and Christians are vipers, deserving death and destruction. After all, as Christians, we believe that it will be Jesus, the Christ, who judges man and not God. How do I know this? Because of St. John's writings:

"And the Father leaves all judgment of sin to his Son, so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor God's Son, whom he sent to you, then you are certainly not honoring the Father" (John 5:22, 23, The Living Bible, New Testament).

Thus, it is my understanding that Muslims and others who believe in God but not in His Son may very well experience God's wrath. But that is God's call, not ours. My conclusions on all of this are quite simple:

  1. Let God judge all faiths, not we who practice them. None of us are truly justified or qualified to judge another, for the log in our own eye is often far excessive in size when compared to the speck in our brother's eye, not to mention St. John 5:22, 23.
  2. Although we may have our adverse opinions regarding these other faiths, and in some cases rightly so, we need to refrain from escalating our opinions to the level of violent action-for the Most High will exercise this right through His only Son, Jesus Christ-which is an integral part of the Godhead.
  3. Perhaps one reason why a few radical factions of the Islamic faith have come to destroy America has more to do with our meddling ways in foreign matters than our faith in God and belief in His only Son, Jesus, the Christ.
  4. We should mind our own business abroad and tell those meddling globalists to cease their activities domestically or reap the harvest of their traitorous ways.

I might add that the globalists I speak of are those who hide behind the scenes, men and women of true wealth, who have worked hard to orchestrate global strife among nations and peoples of Earth. The motive is simple, so they could successfully ride to the rescue, providing a global answer to global problems by way of the United Nations and other Int'l organizations that seek to control nation states and their peoples.
