Having traveled the world for many years, I'm often asked the question," Where are the 'best' women?" My answer is, there are beautiful women everywhere I have been. Intelligent women are also everywhere. However, to find a combination of both that you can live with is a much more difficult thing to accomplish. Recently however, I found that every day somewhere in our newspapers, on television and on the radio, besides my wife, one such woman exists. She is an independent thinker who is not afraid to speak her mind. Oftentimes, this trait can intimidate men but I recognize this talent as an asset for her, especially when it comes to the type of work she does.

The writer and columnist Ann Coulter is such a woman. Before I go any further, have you read any of her recent columns that offer her opinion on the current Democratic politicians vying for the nomination for the presidency? If you have not I highly recommend that you do if you care to learn some interesting facts about the candidates. If you have, allow me to say that I am committed to neither party only to good investigative journalism. Ann's column offers information that will certainly help you make a more reasonable decision about where to place your vote. After all, I'm sure that you will agree, information gathered from each individual candidate is suspect at best if you have any comprehension of politics in our United States!

So who can we trust to give us the 'straight' answers to our questions and concerns? Of course, it's easy to label one commentator as a liberal or conservative but it's difficult to actually get the truth without getting muddled in politicaleese! What did he say? What did he mean? When did he say it? What did he do? What did he vote for what? Does he represent me, as I want to be? Whom can we trust?

We can trust anyone who offers us factual answers to our satisfaction! I recommend we all learn how to cross-reference the statements and accusations made by candidates and see just what they did do. Computers can access every newspaper archive easily enough and actions of public figures are public. If voting is important, enough for you to care it is important enough to find out as much truth on the candidates as you possibly can. Remember, it's not only for yourself that you vote but for your children as well. They also have to live with your decision. That's why I recommend you read some of the articles or books written by Ann Coulter. Often accused of being a right-winger by the left, Ann continues to issue statements that apparently have factual content! If not then why is she not spending her time in court on charges of libel?

Ann's column dated February 15, 2004 on Senator Max Cleland is a perfect example of 'setting the record straight'. To date Max Cleland, because of his injuries, has been one of those subjects that most would consider as too controversial. What about it Max, is Ann telling the truth?

In addition, although, Ann is a born 'yankee', a lawyer, and a woman, it seems any prejudice against those facts here in the 'bayou' is canceled simply because, in our opinion, she is telling the truth!

Check her out and see what you think. Let us know if we are on the right tract with Ann. We like to compare our opinion with yours and appreciate your response. Thanks.

That's my opinion. "This Is Still America!"
