A Million Mom's are Marching

Mom's Marching As To War, Canton, Ohio
The Million Mom March proceeded on schedule in Canton, Ohio, the Football
Hall of Fame city, on Sunday, May 14th, 2000, at 3:00 p.m. ET.

A million moms, or so it was said, marched nationwide on mother's day, 2000. What did they march to? It surely wasn't a different drummer, for the message hasn't changed since the 1960s. However, the anti-establishment folks have since become the establishment and their leaders have somehow managed to dupe a whole lot of good, caring, well-meaning people into believing that outlawing guns will somehow stop all the gun violence in America.

I attended the march in Canton, Ohio, and there is no doubt in my mind that these folks are sincere in their cause. Although I disagree with their misguided stance, I feel a degree of gladness that here, in America, we can hold such a demonstration in the streets without the use of tear gas, rubber bullets, and police in riot gear--unless you happen to oppose the establishment, like happened in Seattle and in Washington, D.C. proper. Million Mom March
Mother's day in Canton was warm and sunny. Approximately 150 to 200 marchers walked from the town square to President McKinley's Monument, which is about 1.2 mi. They ranged in age from the old to the young, some even in strollers and wheelchairs.

Why do I disagree with their stance? Because it is built almost entirely on emotion, pain, and inflated statistics. In addition, it is missing one key ingredient that, without, promises to place this country's national defense at risk if it should ever succeed. That ingredient is the fact that an armed populous makes this country far less vulnerable to outside attack than it would otherwise be.

I can't say that I disagree with their call to action regarding gun violence. I can't say that I disagree with their belief that gun laws can help. But I strongly believe that until the federal government is willing to fully enforce the laws we already have on the books, additional gun laws will only serve to criminalize honest, law-abiding folks who have a firearm for either pleasure or protection, perhaps both. Many have fallen victim to a gun
Many have fallen victim to a gun in the United States and many of their family members and friends came to pay them tribute.

Eliminating Firearms
Is Not The Plan?

You say that taking away all the guns is not the objective of the Million Mom March or their leader who sits in the White House? You say that all they want is responsible gun laws and the licensing of guns and their owners, just as you and I must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle (where have we heard this before)? This may be the ideals sought after by some or most of those who belong to the anti-gun movement, but it is clearly not the aim of their leader, President Clinton. Please read the President's own words:

"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans to legitimately own handguns and rifles that we are unable to think about reality."

At the same time he said this, in 1993, he sought to cut federal prison building by $331 million dollars! Remember, we can tell far more about a man and his goals by what he does than what he says.

All of this comes from a man who stated publically in 1992 that our constitution had outlived its useful purpose and must be replaced. He's the same man who once said that our form of government, our way of life, was a radical experiment that has outlived its time. He and his buddies certainly tried to dismantle our constitution early on in his presidency, but enough folks on the state level knew what a Constitutional Referendum could do to our long standing freedoms and they did not buy into the President's plan.

Thank the Lord for that. But, the attack against our constitutionally protected freedoms is still taking place, much of it through the back door of litigation, as is now happening to the tobacco and gun industries. What's next, the auto industry, home appliance industry, agricultural industry?

The fact is, those of you in the trenches working for this cause do not have a clue who you're really working for and what the real agenda is. The only information you have is what they want you to know. No more and no less. By the time that many of you find out what's really going on, it will be too late.

If we are to continue as a free and independent nation, free of outside rule by a global government, then we had better take note of what's going on here. We need to take our blinders off and look around, smell the rot that's growing around us. Wake up before it's too late.

Why should we say no to gun owner licensing? There are several reasons and all of them lead to one primary threat. To understand that threat we have to look back in history to Germany's Adolph Hitler. It has been said that the Fuhrer was able to rid Germany of her guns by first selling its citizens on gun registration as a means of law enforcement. The promise was safer streets and less crime. However, armed with a near-complete list of all the gun owners in Germany, his SS and SA were easily able to go about collecting them. After all, a disarmed populous is one that cannot fire back, which is necessary to maintain morale and loyalty of the troops during an offensive.

The ease at which any government could collect its citizens' guns is the primary reason why, for several generations now, we have not legislated gun registration. In fact, this is why so many Senators and House Representatives in Congress have rejected this plan throughout the years.

So, if more gun laws and gun owner licensing is not the answer, then what is? Perhaps the best place to start is with Hollywood. Isn't it funny that so many Hollywood actors and actresses have taken up the anti-gun cause, and yet Hollywood itself spits out more gun violence per day than you can ever imagine? Rather contradictory, isn't it? Perhaps if they stopped teaching our children the WRONG KIND OF GUN OWNERSHIP AND USAGE it would help?

Thanks for listening and drop me a line and let me know what you think.

P.S.
It seems that the Million Mom March organization is a 501(c)(3) corporation. By the same laws that regulate churches from being used as political tools through which to influence legislation (lobbying), it's been said that the Million Mom March may very well be violating the law in this regard. At the same time, where does such a requirement stop?

Isn't it ironic that our government would attempt to stifle opposition through such laws? Only a government who has much to fear from its people would pass such laws as this. I applaud the Million Mom March organization for their concern and a good part of their message, but I believe that they are working for an international group that has domination and subjugation on their minds, not the best interests of society's children.
