| Basic Communism: Its Rise, Spread and Debacle in the 20th Century Author: Carson This is a who's who in the communist world, providing a
chronology of major events in communism from the late 18th
century to the present, and biographical sketches of major
characers. It lays bare the tyranny inherent in the Marxist
ideology, made manifest in all countries controlled by
communists (1990 ed, 534 pp). A Basic History of the United States
Author: Carson Volume 1, This textbook begins with the European background and
establishment of colonies in America, and concludes at the
point when British role of the colonies becomes oppressive,
forcing Americans to choose between submission or
independence (1983 ed, 185 pp). Volume 2, Carson describes the theme of independence which dominated
the first 50 years of the United States: of the nation,
individual states, families, and individuals (1884 ed, 262
pp). Volume 3, Clarence Carson covers the Civil War and Reconstruction; a
period of time which constitutes a major break in the
continuity of American history (1985 ed, 224 pp). Volume 4, Covers U.S. economic growth, radical ideas and collectivism,
the political climate, progresivism, World War I, Bolshevism,
and the spread of totalitarianism (1985 ed., 300 pp). Volume 5, Begins with the Great Depression which saw the beginning of
the Welfare State. The prmise of the Welfare State is that
the federal government is responsible for the well-being of
the American people (1986 ed., 346 pp). Volume 6, This latest book in the series covers events, characterized
by political interaction in our nation and around the world
(1996 ed., 207 pp). Teacher's Guide (1996 updated edition)
Exercises for students, questions, suggestions for projects
