Under what conditions is the end result the same no matter whether the party in control is that of the Democrats or Republicans? The answer is simple: where it involves Globalization. The truth centers on the fact that no matter which of these two parties happen to be in the White House, the general direction of society, this country, and the world at large is that of collectivism.

What this circumstantially proves is that both the political Left and Right are, indeed, collectivists. Another just as applicable description of both parties is "monopolists," which is totally contrary to popular belief. This writer has had tremendous difficulty coming to this final conclusion as well; but, in due time, with due study, this is the only final conclusion that works.

If you fail to see it at first, I suggest you step back from the political and military vigor of the day and take another fresh look at history-the history you have seen unfold before your very eyes over the course of your own life. Shut the magazine, close the paper, and begin to think for yourself.

For example, I have yet to talk with anyone concerning the Bush immigration initiative that has actually said it makes any sense. Matter of fact, not one person has yet stepped up and told this writer that they believe it will do good for America. Overwhelmingly the general consensus has been, in essence, "What on Earth is he thinking? Has he lost his mind?"

On one hand President Bush says that he is working to improve national security, and yet on the other he proposes to open the flood gates to illegal immigration by allowing those who have illegally entered to remain in place. This does not spell "national defense" ... it spells "doom" in a number of ways, such as jobs for Americans, cultural redefining for America, and less national security. Who is kidding who here?

"What on Earth is he thinking? Has he lost his mind?"

At first glance, these are valid questions since President Bush is "suppose" to be of a "conservative" cloth. If I didn't know better, I'd say a full-blown liberal now holds the office of President. If William Jefferson Clinton had done this (which he was very involved in the open border effort), there would have been hell to pay. It's as if he's thrown us, the U.S. citizenry, overboard and joined lockstep with the European faction of the Trilateral Commission. One thing is for sure, very little of what President Bush has done since he arrive in D.C. can actually be considered "conservative."

As I have clearly stated on GKO several times now, one of the things that caused me to embark on the creation of GKO was the fact that no matter which party is in office, the general direction of the country is the same. Oh, it may vary a tad in texture, the accent may be different, the vocabulary words a shade bit one way or the other, and the story line (script) altered from the previous administration; but when you carefully step back and scrutinize the end result associated with either party, the general flow is still that of GLOBALIZATION! In a word, there is no difference in this regard, which loudly spells a central "AGENDA" shared by both the political Left and Right. The only folks yet to realize this are those of sincere conscience who begin in politics and those who largely populate these United States of America-the unaware citizenry.

Here is what Arnold Sutton, a former Research Fellow at Hoover Institution and Stanford University, had to say about the political Left and Right in the early 1970s:

"While monopoly control of industries was once the objective of J.P. Morgan and J.D. Rockefeller, by the late nineteenth century the inner sanctums of Wall Street understood that the most efficient way to gain an unchallenged monopoly was to 'go political' and make society go to work for the monopolists-under the name of the public good and the public interest. This strategy was detailed in 1906 by Frederick C. Howe in his Confessions of a Monopolist. Howe, by the way, is also a figure in the story of the Bolshevik Revolution.

"Therefore, an alternate conceptual packaging of political ideas and politico-economic systems would be that of ranking the degree of individual freedom versus the degree of centralized political control. Under such an ordering the corporate welfare state and socialism are at the same end of the spectrum. Hence we see that attempts at monopoly control of society can have different labels while owning common features" (Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, Antony C. Sutton, ©1974 Arlington House, New Rochelle, N.Y.).

For those grand Capitalists among us who do not understand this, the Russians did not want Bolshevik Socialism, which came to be widely known as Communism. Russians did not ask to be subjected to the rigors of a Communist regime that kept them under thumb from morning till night. No common Russian wanted national surveillance that led the Russia KGB to pull thousands upon thousands of honest countrymen from their homes in the dead of night. Have we not seen this same KGB practice proliferate here in the states over the past decade and a half?

A long time back, when I was either in elementary school or junior high, one of my teachers boldly told us that, in time, the political form of government in the United States and the Soviet Union would one day meet in the middle. He was correct, for the game plan has long been to place both societies under one unified, centralized governmental body.

How do I know that? First, we have Norman Dodd's investigation during the early 50s, the result of which came to light in a videotaped interview in the early 1980s, just before he expired. His testimony therein offers plenty of believable information on how the alleged charitable foundations have been used to foster a single mandate, allegedly given to each of the major charities by the White House itself, or so said Dodd said.

Quoting one of my earlier works, "In an interview with G. Edward Griffin, Norman Dodd, Congressional investigator, 1953, stated that there was, indeed, a plot afoot to subvert democracy and to replace it with socialism. Through an investigation of the tax-exempt foundations, such as the Ford and Carnegie Foundations, it was found that these organizations deliberately gained control of both the State Department and the Department of Education" (The Post Cold War Era? Joseph McCarthy Exonerated?, April 02, 2001, bottom [The Hidden Agenda]).

Secondly, we have the United Nations' redefined charter, nation building, regime change, and interference upon interference upon interference into others' national interests--all by simply stating that their interests are our own national interests. We know the rest by watching Clinton and Bush.

If you will recall Matthew 7:15-20:

Watch out for false prophets: they come to you looking like sheep on the outside, but they are really like wild wolves on the inside. You will know them by the way they act. Thorn bushes do not bear grapes, and briers do not bear figs. A healthy tree bears good fruit, while a poor tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a poor tree cannot bear good fruit. Any tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire. So, then, you will know the false prophets by the way they act" (Source: Good News For Modern Man, ©1966 1971 American Bible Society).

In other words, do not listen so much to what they say, but do watch what they do in practice. Also, do not let the word "prophet" throw you off, for prophets are not always religious leaders per se. These verses clearly discuss "anyone" who leads society, and our political leaders qualify, especially those who claim to be a Christian but who often act otherwise.

Thank you,

For Brazil Voters, Machines Rule

PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil -- From deep inside the Amazon to the gaucho country outside this port city, Brazil's government has solved riddles large and small to deliver a quick and generally reliable voting method to its 115 million voters.

A battery gives the urnas, as these portable electronic voting machines are called, a backup in case of power failures. Voters punch in several digits to vote -- and are no longer obliged to write out a candidate's name, a baffling chore for borderline literates.

While criticism grows in the United States over electronic voting machines, Brazil has won praise for its affordable and uniform voting-machine system. Latin America's biggest democracy has exported its electoral know-how to Argentina, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. A spokesman for the electoral commission here says the government has also advised India and the Ukraine on election procedures.

Democracy at Risk

The disputed election of 2000 left a lasting scar on the nation's psyche. A recent Zogby poll found that even in red states, which voted for George W. Bush, 32 percent of the public believes that the election was stolen. In blue states, the fraction is 44 percent.

Now imagine this: in November the candidate trailing in the polls wins an upset victory — but all of the districts where he does much better than expected use touch-screen voting machines. Meanwhile, leaked internal e-mail from the companies that make these machines suggests widespread error, and possibly fraud. What would this do to the nation?

Unfortunately, this story is completely plausible. (In fact, you can tell a similar story about some of the results in the 2002 midterm elections, especially in Georgia.) Fortune magazine rightly declared paperless voting the worst technology of 2003, but it's not just a bad technology — it's a threat to the republic.

DoD Selects Foreign Defense Equipment for Testing

The Department of Defense announced today that it has selected 29 new start projects and 26 previously approved continuing projects to receive fiscal 2004 funding under the Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program. Authorized by Congress since 1980, the FCT Program is administered by the deputy under secretary of defense (advanced systems and concepts), Office of the under secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics).

The FCT Program demonstrates the value of using non-developmental items to reduce development costs and accelerate the acquisition process. The principal objective of the FCT Program is to support the U.S. warfighter by leveraging non-developmental items of allied and other friendly nations to satisfy U.S. defense requirements more quickly and economically. This is to increase U.S. capabilities in the war on terrorism and improve interoperability with our allies.

Given a first-rate foreign non-developmental item, U.S. user interest, a valid operational requirement, and good procurement potential, the FCT Program fields world-class systems and equipment not otherwise available. At the same time, by promoting competition and eliminating unnecessary research, development, test and evaluation expenses, the FCT Program reduces total ownership costs of military systems while enhancing standardization and interoperability, promoting international cooperation, and frequently serving as a catalyst for domestic industry partnering and U.S. industry overseas.

911 Waco Tapes

Notes: Lynch is a Lt. in the Waco Sheriff's Department. Martin is Wayne Martin at the Branch Davidian Compound. Koresh is David Koresh, leader of the group at the compound. My comments will be in []. What I have transcribed is what I heard and did not always agree with what ABC showed on the screen.

Lynch: This is Lynch. Hello - hello - hello.

Martin: Hello!

Lynch: Yeah. This is Lt. Lynch. May I help you?

Martin: Yeah. There's about 75 men around our building and they're shooting at up in Mt. Carmel.

Lynch: Mt. Carmel?

Martin: Yeah. Tell them there are women and children in here and to call it off! [very excited]

Lynch: All right, all right. Hello? I hear gunfire. [shots, rapid fire in background] Oh shit! Hello? Who is this? Hello.

Martin: Call it off! [almost shouted]

Lynch: Who is this? Hello? Hello? God almighty. Hello? [to dispatcher] Who is this coming from?

Don (Stacey)--a good piece. Thanks for sending it along. As you may know, John McCreary, a top DIA analyst assigned to John Kerry's Senate Select Committee to look into the POW mess in 1990, filed several articles of impeachment against Kerry with the Senate "Ethics' committee. John was educated as a lawyer prior to becoming an analyst> if memory serves< he accused kerry of serious malfeasance in executing his duties as co-chairman of that committee. --cheers, john b

As shown by the enclosed Casualty Data Summary, a total of 1,303 American personnel remain officially unaccounted-for after the completion of Operation Homecoming.... Of the 1,303 personnel, the debriefs of the returnees contain information that approximately 100 of them are probably dead. ---Defense Intelligence Agency memorandum to Deputy Secretary of Defense William Clements, May 22, 1973....

A terrible truth is now emerging: Recently declassified documents and other sources show that America's MIA-POW policy has been disfigured by denials, half-truths, and evasions. More important, they also suggest that American prisoners are still crying out in Vietnam. For two decades, a cover-up has been in progress, sustained not so much by conspiracy as by government ineptitude, a bureaucratic unwillingness to draw obvious conclusions from incontrovertible facts, and a failure of national resolve. It is now certain that we left men behind in Southeast Asia-not merely the handful we now unofficially acknowledge in Laos, but in numbers reaching well into the hundreds in Vietnam. It is equally certain that American officials ignored evidence of this at the time.

Sen. John Kerry, the committee chairman, told one of the investigators that if the report ever leaked out, "you'll wish you'd never been born."

TIPS is a system of Americans spying on their neighbors. One in 25 Americans will be spys, reporting what their neighbors are up to. It will start next month with one million spies for starters.

What are you going to do about it??

Don Stacey

The Bush Administration aims to recruit millions of US citizens as domestic informants in a program likely to alarm civil liberties groups. The Terrorism Information and Prevention System, or TIPS, means the US will have a higher percentage of citizen informants than the former East German Stasi secret police. That is 4% of Americans will spy on the other 96%. This is, of course, part of the war against terrorism. The program starts next month in 10 cities, with one million informants for starters. America has now officially become a totalitarian state. The first group apprehended will be enemies of the informants. The task should be easy. Homes can now be searched without a warrant. FEMA will handle the program and will detain suspects in their prison camps, which are set up and already to go. We are all now subject to spying by America's new shadow government.

Who Rules the World, Really?

It used to be that Greenspan’s "fedspeak" moved the world’s currency and investment markets.

No longer.

The baton has passed, and it has passed to none other than (I wish I could do a better parody of a French accent in writing) "Muhsieur Jean-Claude Trichet."

What did we just witness last week? "Muhsieur Trichet" has wagged his tongue, just a little bit. He has wrapped his Gallic tongue around some French-accentuated words, and has just changed one word from his previous comment that yielded zero results only days earlier. He stated his preference that currency moves should not be so "brutahl." That’s all he did - and, Whammo! The dollar soared, the euro dropped, and gold and its shares took a weeklong nosedive.

For most American citizens the routine of their lives has not yet been affected. The jarring adjustment that follows the loss of one of the three or four million exported manufacturing jobs has been realized by only a small percentage of our population. Other segments of our economy have just begun to feel the wrenching affects. Computer programmers, tech reps, and several other job categories in the white-collar sector are in the process of being relocated.

To compound the problem, the Immigration and Naturalization Service between 1998 and 2001 certified some 4 million H-1B visas.

In 2001, an H-1B worker took nine out of every ten new jobs created in the computer/information technology field. In spite of record domestic unemployment 312,000 new visas were issued in 2002.

One in every five workers lost a job during the last three years. Most received less than two weeks notice no severance pay, and no continuing medical benefits. At least a third of these unfortunate Americans is now underemployed.

US plans to attack seven Muslim states

Wesley Clark slams plot to attack seven Muslim states after 9/11

Presidential hopeful General Wesley Clark says the White House devised a five-year plan after the 9/11 strikes to attack seven majority-Muslim countries.

A former commander of NATO's forces in Europe, Clark claims he met a senior military officer in Washington in November 2001 who told him the Bush administration was planning to attack Iraq first before taking action against Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia and Sudan.

The general's allegations surface in a new book, The Clark Critique, excerpts from which appear in the latest edition of the US magazine Newsweek.

Snooping Industry Set To Grow

Snooping powers given to more than 600 public bodies look set to create a small industry of private firms that will help process requests for information about who people call, the websites they visit and who they swap e-mail with.

Some firms are already marketing their services to the agencies granted the snooping powers under the controversial Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.

One firm, called Singlepoint, has been specifically created to act as a middleman between the bodies that want access to data and the net service providers and phone operators that hold it.

Civil liberty groups said they were worried about the emergence of such firms and said the government must police them closely to ensure that access to sensitive information was not abused.

Who Benefits From Free Trade, and How

The Internet has been abuzz lately with arguments over free trade. This most recent outburst of scholarship was sparked by Sen. Charles Schumer and economist Paul Craig Roberts' joint article in the New York Times, "Second Thoughts on Free Trade". In this article, Roberts reiterated his position that "the case for free trade" rests on the assumption that factors of production cannot move between countries (or at least, cannot move as easily as final products can).

According to Schumer and Roberts, in the modern world of multinational corporations, reduced shipping costs, and high-speed telecommunications, factors of production are quite mobile indeed. We can no longer be sure that "free trade" will work in the new environment. Rather than David Ricardo's classical law of comparative advantage (which showed that laborers in various countries will specialize in those industries in which they are relatively superior), which Roberts agrees will produce shared gains among all trading nations, in the new global economy we confront the law of absolute advantage: Capital and labor will move to those countries with the lowest costs of production, meaning some nations gain and others lose.

Naturally, libertarians went berserk over these claims. It certainly seemed as if Paul Craig Roberts were lending scholarly justifications for raising tariffs or other barriers on foreign imports to prevent American companies from "exporting jobs" to low-wage nations. I myself jumped on the bandwagon of criticizing the Schumer-Roberts piece, and engaged in an email correspondence with Roberts to boot. In response to these libertarian onslaughts, Roberts offered a blogged clarification of his position.

The price of change

Beginning in the hippie heyday of 1967, the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic brought a communal spirit to its mission of offering free medical care to the city's poor. But today, with a $14 million budget and 11 offshoot programs outside the main clinic at the corner of Haight and Cole Streets, Haight Ashbury Free Clinics Inc. is using a stronger managerial hand to grapple with financial problems and the demands of modern managed health care.

Not only will the clinic break with tradition next month when it caves in to federal demands and institutes a sliding-scale payment system for its clients, but also the autocratic manner in which that and other changes have been made has triggered internal unrest and an almost total staff turnover at the clinic.

The Bay Guardian spoke to eight former staff members, who are perplexed and saddened by what they see as a management out of touch with the clinic's old values. "The loss of institutional knowledge has been devastating," contract manager Erik Johnson wrote in his resignation letter last month. "The damage done to the medical program will take years to repair."

The health care war

LOS ANGELES – Today Mark Norton is one of 70,000 grocery workers on strike, or locked out, in southern California. Soon he may be one of hundreds of thousands facing another difficult predicament: across the country, the system for financing health care benefits for union workers is breaking down, as managed care drives the cost of medical insurance through the roof.

Some employers, like Safeway, which owns the Von's store where Norton works, can afford to pay the increases – but they won't. Whether from greed or economic pressure, the growing crisis of this system threatens to make 2004 a year of massive strikes and labor wars.

Norton went to work for Von's 18 years ago. By last fall, when the strike started, he'd become a grocery manager. That gave him a full-time job, earning wages capable of supporting a family in an industry where that's become a rarity.

Bilderbergs (BB)

John J. McCloy (former Chairman of the CFR, and Chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank) used his position as coordinator of information for the US government to build the framework of what was to become the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), created in 1941-1942 era, headed by Bill Donovan. During 1947, the OSS was rolled into a new group called the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by the 1947 National Security Act, which made the activities of the CIA immune from all civil, and criminal laws. In 1950 General Walter Bedel Smith became Director of the CIA. The CIA helped organize, and sponsored the formation, and operation of the Bilderberg Conferences. There is little doubt that the CIA sponsored the formation of the Bilderbergs, and continue to do so, to this day.

Kai Bird’s excellent account in "The Chairman, John J. McCoy, The Making of the American Establishment", states:

"In late 1952, Retinger went to America to try the idea out on his American contacts. Among others, he saw such old friends as Averell Harriman, David Rockefeller, and Bedel Smith, then director of the CIA. After Retinger explained his proposal, Smith said, ‘Why the hell didn’t you come to me in the first place?’ He quickly referred Retinger to C. D. Jackson, who was about to become Eisenhower’s special assistant for psychological warfare. It took a while for Jackson to organize the American wing of the group, but finally, in May 1954, the first conference was held in the Hotel de Bilderberg, a secluded hotel in Holland, near the German border. Prince Bernhard, and Retinger drew up the list of invitees from the European countries, while Jackson controlled the American list."

U.S. Has Legal Means To Stop Detention Revolving Door

Beltway sniper John Lee Malvo might be the most famous illegal alien ever detained and released by the Immigration Service on the lying promise that he would attend U.S. Immigration Court hearings.

But detaining and releasing aliens like the young Jamaican and his mother on minimal immigration bonds is nothing new. Dozens, perhaps hundreds of illegal aliens like Malvo just walk right through the same federal immigration bureaucracy every day.

How many? Who knows?

Thanks to a chronic lack of detention space, lax immigration bonds on the border, candy store-like “humanitarian parole” procedures at ports of entry, and the delay-ridden litigation bureaucracy of the Executive Office for Immigration Review [the EOIR Immigration Court system inside the Department of Justice], illegal aliens pass right through immigration detention and on to destinations all over the country every day.

Government adviser: killing children with defects acceptable

A GOVERNMENT adviser on genetics has sparked fury by suggesting it might be acceptable to destroy children with ‘defects’ soon after they are born.

John Harris, a member of the Human Genetics Commission, told a meeting at Westminster he did not see any distinction between aborting a fully grown unborn baby at 40 weeks and killing a child after it had been born.

Harris, who is a professor of bioethics at Manchester University, would not be drawn on which defects or problems might be used as grounds for ending a baby’s life, or how old a child might be while it could still be destroyed.

Harris was reported to have said that he did not believe that killing a child was always inexcusable.

Revealed: Hutton will clear Blair over Kelly death

Tony Blair will escape personal criticism over the events leading to the death of Dr David Kelly when the Hutton report is published on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister's aides have disclosed to the Telegraph that he has not received a letter from Lord Hutton warning him of potential criticism in the report.

The former law lord has sent letters to those he intends to criticise, indicating areas of disquiet. The fact that he has not dispatched such a warning to Mr Blair suggests that the Prime Minister will not face direct condemnation in the final report.

'Little point' in WMD search

Pentagon and CIA officials appear to have accepted that there is little point in searching for weapons stockpiles in Iraq, and will now concentrate on auditing Iraqi claims of their destruction.

The sharp change in emphasis by the CIA-directed Iraq Survey Group follows the admission on Friday by its outgoing leader, Dr David Kay, that his 1,000-man organisation had not found evidence of stockpiles, and that he now believed they had never existed.

The CIA has announced that Kay will be replaced by Charles Duelfer, a former senior weapons inspector, who has said that in the past that the Bush administration's prewar allegations on Iraq's weapons were 'far off the mark'. 'My goal is to find out what happened on the ground. What was the status of the Iraqi weapons programme? What was their game plan? What were the goals of the regime? To find out what is the ground truth,' said Duelfer.

Pro-American Sentiments Coming Out of Closet in Iran

A sideshow of the horrendous earthquake that hit the southern Iranian city of Bam has been the warm reception that Iranians, including members of the Revolutionary Guard, have given American humanitarian-assistance teams that included U.S. military-plane crews.

These images of friendly attitude are at odds with an earlier impression of widespread hatred of America in Iran - as well as elsewhere in the world. Recent events clearly have brought to light the gratitude felt by many in Iran, but what needs far more emphasis is the strength and depth of a widespread liking and appreciation of America among Iranians of all ages and social classes.

The dreadful consequences of the Iranian earthquake temporarily have blurred the sharp tension of U.S.-Iranian relations. They have pushed into a distant background what in fact still remains for all intents and purposes a dangerous collision course. One therefore might want to put down current expressions of affection for America to short-lasting gratitude.

How the state of modern mental health
care has destroyed this country

By Nick Markowitz Jr.
GKO Contributing Writer

Recently I was asked to use my skills as a Fire Inspection/ Investigation expert to help the Emsworth, Penn. Fire Chief were I am a member with his inspection of the old Dixmont State Mental Hospital Property. Although much of the 177 structures on the property were abandoned some time ago, as the facility fell on hard times, some of them have been rented to new tenants. It was these facilities that we were inspecting.

I found it ironic that this once bustling State Hospital site, which was once its own self-sufficient community, focused to help the mentally disabled, had changed so much. Frankly, our mental health policy treatment and changes have all but closed most of these sprawling properties, as well as Western Center for Children, Woodville, and most of Mayview and Polk, and other facilities all across the country.

It brought me back to a dinner conversation that I had several years ago with the father of Jeffery Dahmer-yes, that Jeffery Dahmer, the serial killer cannibal from Milwaukee, Wis. In a strange twist of fate, I was able to meet Jeffries' father and step mother at my sister-in-laws' horse farm in Ohio. Mrs. Dahmer is a horse enthusiast and rented a stall from my sister in law.

After I and my relatives, as well as the elder Dahmers, had worked on the farm all day, doing chores and repairs etc., we sat down for dinner together. It was then that I was able to speak with Mr. Dahmer, although all so delicately. He told me how deeply he regretted what Jeffery had done and that he really did not want to talk about it. I respected his wish. I was, however, surprised to learn that during Jeffries' early years they actually lived in Penn Hills, which is not that very far from where I live. When Jeffery's parents divorced, his mother took him to Wisconsin were Mr. Dahmer was only able to keep limited contact with his son. His upbringing was essentially left to the mother.

This is one of many cases were one has to ask, with all the warning signs surrounding young Jeffrey, why did not the mental health community get involved sooner? Why did not Jeffery get treatment sooner instead of being allowed to slip through the cracks, eventually killing many young men and eating parts of them. As you will recall, he was tried for murder and sentenced to life in state prison were he was violently and horrifically killed after being accidentally allowed to enter a non-secure area of the prisons general population.

The problem starts at the entrance at Dixmont State Hospital and all the ancient facilities like it. In the early history of our country, places like Dixmont were built to house and care for the mentally ill, keeping them away from the general public.

For the most part, these facilities were humanely run places. I remember as a child going past Mayview on a weekend trip and how the patients were actively engaged in maintaining the beautiful farms around the property. However, all that stopped in the 1960s when the labor department insisted the patients be paid minimum wage.

The result of the labor department's action was that all these farms, and many other facilities, were eventually abandoned because these organizations could not afford to pay their patients to maintain them. Thus, they fell into disrepair, much like Dixmont, and the arsonist's match destroyed many.

As most of us already know, there were the many horror stories of abuses that were allowed to go on in some of these mental health facilities. In the old days, just the word of a greedy family member or family physician could mean a lifetime of incarceration in such a facility.

There was the case several years back at Mayview were a women spent 58 years in confinement simply because she was found running burned and hysteric in the street after her family was killed in a home fire. She had escaped and, at the time, it was not realized her screams were in Ukrainian. No one understood the language, so they thought she was madly insane. It was only after a Ukrainian language major was working at the hospital as an intern that authorities came to know that their patient had been speaking Ukrainian as the tried to get help. The woman, now very old, has been released after a tragedy that never should have happened.

There is also the movie "Incident in Baltimore," which was shot at the, then closed Woodville. It was based on the real life story of a young woman who had been wrongfully incarcerated and brutalized by the system because of an uncaring mother who had allowed her to be sterilized. And do we dare talk about let cruel lobotomy surgeries that was used to correct extreme behavior that often left patients dead or vegetables?

Today, mental health care has changed significantly because of the abuses that took place in decades past. Instead of the mentally ill being institutionalized, you now see many of them living on the streets homeless. This is because the State is no longer allowed to hold people against their will. If a patient is no longer a danger to themselves or the community at large, they are obligated by law to release them.

Institutions have given way to group homes, which are often times worse than the treatment these patients previously received. This is because privately run group homes see their patients more as cash cows than clients. I have testified to such here in Pennsylvania, as when they closed Western Center. But psychotherapy and medicines, which allow people to live a somewhat normal life in society, has all but eliminated the need for places like Dixmont. And yet, the homeless situation points out, just as the Jeffery Dahmer case did, that what is still wrong is the way we handle mental illness.

In the old days, Jeffery's then reckless behavior would have landed him in a facility for treatment instead of therapists passing him off, one to the other, or simply being ignored. The big homeless problem you see today would not be a problem if places like Dixmont were still available. Many of these patients choose homelessness because they are mentally ill. They refuse to take their medication and are left to live a miserable life on the streets, often involved in crime as either the perpetrator or the victim-instead of a safe facility like Dixmont were they can actually contribute to society.

The homeless do not go to the shelters because they are dangerous and they have to conform to the rules on the street they do what they want. Others are homeless because of job loss, drugs, etc. Wouldn't the public good be better served by helping those with mental heath issues to find their way off the streets and into safe places?

The biggest part of the problem here is the Communist ACLU. It was the ACLU that tangled the rules so much so that people like Jeffery Dahmer run loose instead of being committed to a facility where they can get the treatment they need. Unfortunately, today, a person must nearly become a serious danger to himself or herself or the community until they can legally be placed in a facility for treatment-and then only for a 30-day evaluation! All too often, those who need help who go through such an evaluation are then released to the street. In far too many cases, the only action that has been taken is to give them some pills, an appointment with a therapist, and then they are sent on their way.

The other point that makes in-facility help implausible is the skyrocketing costs associated with mental health treatment, which is due, in part, to lawsuits and laws, which have to be followed.

In closing, once again the bleeding heart liberals have screwed things up. What was once an efficient and safe system for the mentally ill has become a nightmare for most. Instead of truly helping these people, they have seen to it that they are thrown out into the streets and told they are free to live their lives-but are they really? Yes, the old system was not perfect and it had its problems, but instead of working to correct these problems, the commie Leftists among us in the U.S. have totally destroyed it.

Remember Liberal Rule #1: "The result is the exact opposite of the stated intent."

By Barry Chamish

Mazal Tov Ve Siman Tov! Yigal's Getting Married In The Morning! So get me to his cell on time.

Avigdor Eskin is a wealthy Russian businessman who spends most of the year in Moscow, where he is director of an intelligence front promoting Russian trade with Asia. When he is in Israel, he is either sitting in prison to cover his agenda or up to mischief. He was the matchmaker between Amir and his lovely bride-to-be Larisa Trimbobler. Eskin was also a lead player in the public incitements which were orchestrated to blame the Religious-Right for Rabin's murder and to keep that image in the public mind.

One month before the Rabin assassination, Eskin gathered a quorum outside Rabin's house to recite a medieval death curse called the pulsa dinara. The ceremony received an enormous amount of publicity and was used as proof that Rabin was killed because of the incitement led by such personalities as Eskin and Eyal leader, Avishai Raviv. Now since Raviv was exposed as a Shabak provocateur, why not Eskin as well? Just look at his record.

Can we ever forget Yigal Amir's 30th birthday when Eskin and company appeared at Beersheva Prison with a cake for Yigal? In the parking lot, Eskin beat up a cab driver, who opposed his revelry, in front of the media cameras, and once again, made national news.

And then there was the pig lady, Tatiana Suskin. Eskin matchmade her with an Israeli husband as well. Then came that unforgettable Shabbat when Tatiana handed out leaflets in Hebron caricaturizing Mohammed as a pig. When arrested, Tatiana confessed that she and Eskin had planned to toss a pig's head into the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

There is much in common between Tatiana Suskin and Larisa Trimbobler. Both are Russian-born newly-orthodox ladies...Yet if that is true, why would Suskin have handed out her ugly leaflets on the Sabbath? And both talk like they are orbiting Jupiter, looking and sounding like they are deeply medicated.

Trimbobler and her ex were both part of Eskin's merry pranksters for Yigal. Together they would boost Amir's morale with letters of undying support for his courageous act of patriotism against Rabin. Then, a year ago, Amir's lawyer Shmuel Kaspar, the only lawyer on earth who repeats his client's guilt at every opportunity, submitted an appeal to allow the couple to visit Amir in prison. The court agreed to permit only Larisa visiting privileges. Once she actually met her hero in person, she was so smitten she divorced her husband so she could concentrate on her true love, Yigal the hero.

Then comes the announcement of betrothal and the country is up in arms. Rabin's daughter Dahlia, already hiding her serious cancer from the public, comes down with heart palpitations and has to be hospitalized. Kaspar "defends" his client's right to wed by comparing him with a series of serial killers who have taken their marital vows while incarcerated. According to the polls, 52% agree that Amir should be allowed his wedding provided he is never released and the image of him as Rabin's real murderer is enhanced in the public mind.

But he was the patsy and the Israeli media and government know it. However this truth must be covered up, so in comes the Knesset cowards and hypocrites passing new laws to stop the ceremony and the hack journalists repeating at every opportunity the phrase, "Amir, the murderer of the prime minister."

Eskin's publicity stunt has done its job. The public debate has shifted from doubts about Amir's role in the assassination to certainty again. And by shifting the blame back to him, we are all the losers. But the biggest loser will be Larisa. From the information I have received about Amir's earlier life, if she is anticipating nuptial bliss, she's in for a permanent disappointment.

And defeat goes on. The Rabin/Shabak coverups continue with renewed vigor. Just this past fortnight two people who know too much were hushed. On Jan. 20, Dr. Vladimir Yikerivich, past head of cardiology at Ichilov Hospital, was convicted of manslaughter and corruption. Recall that he was the surgeon who operated on Rabin's heart on the murder night. Three years ago, when charges against him were first published, he threatened to open his mouth about what happened that night if the claims against him were pursued. He seems to have had a change of heart.

Then there was the untimely demise by cancer of former Shabak Deputy chief, Yossi Ginosar at age 58. As numerous correspondents noted, convenient cancer strikes again. Now who would want Ginosar hushed up permanently? This computer doesn't have enough memory to list them all, so let's concentrate on the most corrupt and dirty.

The decision to make Ginosar mortally ill may have been made in February 2001. That's when his partner Ozrad Lev revealed to Maariv that Ginosar had laundered over $300 million of money stolen from the Palestinian Authority by Yasir Arafat, in Swiss bank accounts. To cover the trail of theft, Ginosar opened straw companies for the money to pass through and who was appointed CEO of these phoney firms, Dr. Stephen Cohen, then executive partner with former Utah Congressman Wayne Owens in an influential Washington-based Middle East economic think tank.

Once the scandal got rolling and threatened to get out of hand, Cohen and Owens flew together to Tel Aviv to bring peace to the land. Owens wasn't in Israel half a day before his body was found dead on the beach opposite the Tel Aviv Hilton. The last person known to have met with him was Shimon Peres' personal aide, Avi Gil.

Now look what happened right after Ginosar was out of the picture. On the advice of Colin Powell's (CFR) personal Middle East advisor, Dr. Stephen Cohen (CFR), American ambassador to Israel, Daniel Kurtzer (CFR) held a tete-a-tete in his home with Geneva initiator frontman, Yossi Beilin. This was followed by a meeting between PA prime minister frontman Abu Ala at the Herzlia home of UN envoy and member of the Peres Peace Center board, Terye Roed-Larsen, and Shimon Peres, Oslo deceiver Uri Savir and Wayne Owens nemesis, Avi Gil.

Certain Shabak officers informed Sharon of the meetings and he was furious, as well he should be. The coup d'etat was working to plan. Peres was named the Labor Party head just in time for Sharon to be ousted on corruption charges. The takeover is well on the way.

And Yossi Ginosar won't be around to, accidentally or not, sabotage it again.

It just didn't fit into the previous information, but another highly suspicious act of mass murder should be looked into, and that is the downing of the Flash Air jet on Jan. 3, killing 149 French passengers and crew while taking off from the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.

In the days preceding the crash, six Air France planes to Los Angeles were cancelled, and another diverted to Canada. All over the world the word went out that a French plane was going to be hit.

Then came a report on Fox News, broadcast only once. It seems that a plane along with another 149 passengers and crew disappeared after taking off from Benin the year before. According to an aviation expert quoted by Fox, that plane was transferred to Lebanon and then leased by Flash Air. The plane that sunk into the Red Sea was that very plane which disappeared somewhere near Benin.

What that means is 149 people were slaughtered somewhere in Africa in order to acquire the Shark El Sheikh death jet.

And now the most puzzling part of the mystery. Tony Blair was in Sharm El-Sheikh the moment the plane went down. We remember that Blair-Bush did not appreciate France's attitude towards their capture of Iraq. Was the downing of the Flash Air jet a show for Blair or was he merely commanding the operation?

In the wake of the Flash Air crash, French police suddenly remembered that they had covered up the murder of Princess Diana and the scandal took on new life.

The recent Shabbatean-Frankist articles has inspired magnificent research by numerous correspondents. Here is one example:

Hi Barry,
I believe that I have evidence that may show that Shimon Peres is a Sabbatean Frankist or at the very least is fulfilling a Frankist concept very exactingly. This includes 3 pieces of evidence:

1. In the Frankist "Red Epistle" the following is written (translated from "Redemption Through Sin," Scholem):

"There will come a day when the angels will seek the Lord and the sea will say "He is not in me" and the abyss will say "He is not in me." Where then will they find Him? In Edom [referring to Catholicism--the Vatican], for it is said "Who is it that cometh from Edom?" And they who follow him into this holy religion and cling the the House of Jacob [Frank] and take shelter in its shadow--for it is said..."Come ye and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord and the House of the G-d of Jacob [the Temple Mount]..."

What is implied? That there will come a day when the angels seeking G-d will find His presence where? In Edom--that is, specifically a reference to the House of G-d, the site of the Temple, which will be in the possession of Edom--that is, the Vatican.

Now, whatever "Jew" proposes that the Temple be turned over to the Catholic church we might safely assume to be a Frankist, since this is a Frankist idea. And who was it? Shimon Peres.

2. Shimon Peres, as you once pointed out, went to a Catholic school as a child, and where he grew up Jews only went to Jewish schools. It's well known that Frankists and Catholics have always kept close contact.

3. Consider the following: A certain "Rabbi" Menacham Fruman was sent to meet with the head of Hamas, Yassin, a few years ago. And PERES SENT HIM. I don't know about you but if someone asked me to go meet with the head of Hamas, I wouldn't go, and I don't know too many other Jews or rabbis, for that matter, who would go. But "Rabbi" Fruman went. And not just once, but twice. And apparently he and Yassin got along very well. The only conclusion that can be drawn from this is that Fruman is an agent of Peres. Otherwise, who could "ask" a Jew (especially a supposedly orthodox one) to go meet with Yassin? It should also be added that he was recently photographed with Arafat, which has had his community in Tekoa up in arms, banning him from serving in any rabbinic capacity.

Now I know for a fact that Fruman has been involved with promoting Sufis in Israel. I heard one such Sufi speak--this one was from Senegal. Amongst his many praises for Fruman, he urged a group of secular Israelis to put their religion aside (meaning the religious) and embrace their Arab brothers. He went a long way toward brainwashing these people and had some of them in tears. One he even coerced into saying, "I am a Sufi!" after she initially resisted. As we know Frank was heavily involved with the Sufis and this is where his mysterious financing came from. Sabbateans have always been involved with Sufis since the apostasy of Shabbatai Tzvi, especially the Bektashi order. I even saw an article on the internet which posited the thesis that Shabbatai Tzvi was really just a good sufi, and all of his activities, religious and otherwise, were conforming to Sufi doctrine. Conclusion: Peres, through his agent Fruman is promoting Sufis, a Frankist/Sabbatean preoccupation.

I have a limited number of copies of Rabbi Antelman's expose of the Frankists, To Eliminate The Opiate Volume II. My first goal is educational, but I have to support this enterprise somehow. Time after time people write saying they'd like to purchase the books I offer but will have to wait until they have fewer bills to pay. And I always reply that I'll send the books and they can pay whenever they are able. No one takes me up on the offer.

So, I'll try a new approach. If anyone orders Save Israel or the package of the other three books for $25, they will receive a free copy of To Eliminate The Opiate 2. Or vice-versa. I am down to my last copies of Rabbi Antelman's book, having given most of my supply to him previously, so I will only make this offer once. By next sendout, it's over.

My April tour is taking shape. Toronto has been added to Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Reno. If you'd like me to lecture to your group, please contact me soon.

The bottom line is that the American people have a right to know who is underwriting their presidential candidates, and their democracy."

--From the first ever guest blog on by Charles Lewis, founder of the Center for Public Integrity. Lewis has just released "The Buying of the President 2004." In 2000 the guy with the least votes -- but the most money -- won, making the contest an auction, not an election. Lewis tells you who the winning bidders are in this race, beginning with the temporary resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. --Greg Palast

And now, from Charles Lewis:

Our electoral process is broken, with about half or more of America's eligible voters not voting in every federal election cycle. After the Florida recount debacle, in which the likes of Fidel Castro and Robert Mugabe lectured us on how to conduct democratic elections, we still do not have a single, standardized system of voting throughout the nation. The campaign process has become so expensive that it limits the talent pool available today to only millionaires or those willing and able to raise substantial sums of cash from wealthy and powerful interests with business before the government. Forty members of the current U.S. Senate are millionaires; less than one percent of the American people are millionaires. And big money mixed with irregular and high-tech redistricting help explain why the incumbent reelection rate in the House of Representatives the past three elections has been more than 98 percent. These are the kind of numbers we expect to see in countries like North Korea or China, not the United States.

Despite campaign finance reform, 2004 already is and will ultimately be the most expensive election in U.S. history. President George W. Bush has shattered his own astounding 1999 fundraising record and collected $130 million in 2003 - that's more than half a million dollars a day - and his campaign has $99 million in cash on hand with no major Republican primary challenger. Bush's official third quarter cash on hand number of $73 million was more than all of the major Democratic candidates and all of the Democratic national party committees combined ($54 million) through September!

There is an especially compelling reason for candidates to make this headlong rush for cash. As we mentioned in the 1996 and 2000 editions of The Buying of the President, the central, most salient, single fact about the White House selection process-a discovery first made by Republican political fundraising consultant Stan Huckaby-is that in every presidential election since 1976, the candidate who has raised the most money at the end of the year preceding the election, and been eligible for federal matching funds, has become his party's nominee for the general election. At midnight on December 31st, it was Carter and Ford who had amassed the most campaign cash in 1975, Carter and Reagan in 1979, Mondale and Reagan in 1983, Dukakis and G.H.W. Bush in 1987, Clinton and Bush in 1991, Clinton and Dole in 1995 and Gore and G.W. Bush in 1999.

Air Force Study Reveals Apparent Association Between
Cancer and Agent Orange Exposure

PRESS RELEASE -- Secretary of the Air Force, Directorate of Public Affairs

Release No. 0122046
Jan 22, 2004

Air Force Study Reveals Apparent Association Between Cancer and Agent Orange Exposure

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A new analysis of cancer incidence among Air Force veterans of the Vietnam War found increased risks of prostate cancer and melanoma in those who sprayed Agent Orange and other herbicides, according to an article that will be published in the February edition of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. The article, written by members of the Air Force Health Study on Operation Ranch Hand, indicates that a statistical adjustment for years served in Southeast Asia (SEA) reveals increased risks of prostate cancer, melanoma and cancer at any anatomical site among those with the highest dioxin exposure. Previous results of the Study's research had found no consistent evidence that Agent Orange is related to cancer.

The National Academy of Sciences will review this study along with many other studies on herbicide and dioxin exposure to make a report to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to assist him in decisions related to compensation.

The study included veterans of Operation Ranch Hand, the unit responsible for the aerial spraying of Agent Orange and other herbicides in Vietnam, and comparison Air Force veterans who served in SEA during the war but did not spray herbicides. Since the first health examination in 1982, the Air Force has tried to determine whether long-term health effects exist in the Ranch Hand flyers and ground crew, and if they can be attributed to the herbicides used in Vietnam.

The study included two parts: external contrasts with the national population and internal contrasts with adjustments for years served in the SEA region. In both parts, researchers defined cancer as specified by the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) section of the National Cancer Institute.

Contrasts with the national population revealed increased risks of melanoma in Ranch Hand veterans and an increased risk of prostate cancer in Ranch Hand and comparison veterans. The significantly increased standardized incidence ratios ranged from 1.46 to 2.33. The elevated risks could be partly due to increased case finding as a result of extensive screening at the periodic Air Force Health Study physical examinations.

The study also found a significant decrease in cancer of the digestive system in the Ranch Hand group and a significant decrease in cancer of the urinary and lymphopoietic systems in the comparison group. No significant increase in the risk of death from cancer was found in either the Ranch Hand or the comparison group when compared to national rates.

The second part of the study contrasted Ranch Hands in high, low and background dioxin exposure categories with Comparisons. Years in SEA confounded the analysis. Following standard statistical procedures, investigators stratified by this confounding variable. Among those who served no more than two years in SEA, Ranch Hand veterans with the highest dioxin levels were found to exhibit an increased risk of cancer at any anatomical site, prostate and melanoma. The relative risk for "any site cancer" in the high dioxin category was 2.02 with a 95 percent confidence interval of 1.03 to 3.95. Increases in the risk of prostate cancer and melanoma were higher but based on small numbers, and the confidence intervals were wide. Of 65 "any site cancers" in the Ranch Hand group, 21 were of the prostate and 11 were melanoma.

Study methods were derived from discussions with the Ranch Hand Advisory Committee, a non-governmental panel of scientists appointed by the Food and Drug Administration to oversee the study.

Dioxin exposures of members of the Ranch Hand unit were probably greater than those experienced by the average Vietnam veteran.

The study is limited by its sample size, preventing detailed analysis of rare cancers, and by uncertainties regarding dioxin exposure. The dioxin determinations were accurate but were measured 15-30 years after service in the Ranch Hand unit. The study interpretations are limited because other environmental exposures were not measured. Study strengths include record verification of all cancer cases and rigorous quality control. Extrapolation to other Vietnam veterans is not possible with these data. Associations found in this study do not imply causation.

Publication of the Ranch Hand data and findings in the peer-reviewed journal will allow further discussion of the conclusions and implications by the scientific community at large.

Having found and researched the meaning of the two words above, I've come to the conclusion that in today's world there seems to be little difference between them! Although I have a tendency to believe there may be a little more honesty among prostitutes, the similarities are amazing. Each sells something for money or personal gain. It could be drugs, power, influence or status among peers that drives them to compete for our attention and support. They each have a tendency to deceive us as much as possible in order to gain our confidence so that we will pick them and make us feel like we've made the right decision. The oldest profession is followed closely by the second and can be proven by the attempts of Adam and Eve to negotiate their position even after they transgressed the Law! Sound familiar?

The ACLU will sell its' soul, Jesse Jackson will sell his race, many congressmen will sell their vote and 'hookers' sell their sexual favors. The principle is the same the technique is different. An exchange of a product of some type that's desired by the buyer for an amount of money or something else considered important by the seller. And after the deal is done each goes on their way not remembering much about what happened only feeling that for a short time, they got their way. Then on to the next deal or time it's necessary to sell something to get what they want. Can be considered a little childish, don't you agree? Certainly a trade like this cannot have lasting results that favor either party. And, time will tell if the encounter was a good one or one that will require medical or corrective measures!

Prior planning prevents poor performance and can be adapted to either of the arenas mentioned above. Why precautions are not taken by anyone in these encounters is beyond my understanding. Perhaps that is why there are so many diseased politicians and prostitutes and pregnancies? Fear not, in our society, we only associate with those folks that we choose to be with. The problem of prostitution can be resolved by just saying no, avoidance of that environment or deciding that it's just not the right thing to do. Problems with politicians however are more complex. They have a disease that no medical solution can prevent or control. They will lie about anything that could possibly help with our trusting them or believing in them long enough for them to get what they want. And their positions seem to be as durable as a mold, for once they're in it seems they find a way to glue themselves in for life. And what a life! Clean, comfortable, staffs to do menial tasks, free parking or limos, free international travel, and vacations paid for by the tax payers (US) with all the additional perks you can imagine including working only about half the time! Early retirement with full benefits and medical care add to the privilege of serving us! Can you believe it? Our State and Federal Politicians work less and receive more pay and benefits than any other career we know of! What a deal! And can you believe some of them have filed bankruptcy?

And how do you get a job like these you ask? Have the lack of moral courage to do the right thing, know how to lie and convince people of what they want to hear, hide all of your weaknesses and transgressions until election and then deny anything that may cause you to look less than worthy. Of course, you must be able to hide anything that you may have done while in college or even high school that would make you look human. And you must have money.

Getting in is one thing mister politician and miss prostitute, staying there with out eventually becoming a looser is quite another.

Folks, I suggest you apply the five P's to the politicians running for office and vote. As an optimist I feel that sooner or later we will prevail. Keep the Faith, there must be a National Leader out there somewhere. Perhaps he's applying the plan as we speak.

That's my opinion, For This Is Still America!

The Brady Bunch Visits Wonderland Once Again

By Erich Pratt, Director of Communications
Gun Owners of America (GOA)

The Brady Campaign has asked us to believe the impossible ... yet again.

Every January, the gun control group issues a state report card, giving each state a grade on the basis of their gun laws.

But one look at their report card reveals that the grades have nothing to do with how safe people are in the state.

Their report card is somewhat reminiscent of Lewis Carroll's classic Alice in Wonderland. When Alice doesn't believe the White Queen is 101 years old, she is encouraged by the Queen to spend more time trying to believe the impossible.

"When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day," the Queen smiled. "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Well, the Brady Bunch would have us believe many impossible things. But here are six for starters.

First, the group gives Vermont a grade of D- because, supposedly, the "state's weak laws make it too easy for criminals, the mentally ill and juveniles to get guns."

But this statement is laughable, for crime in Vermont is virtually non- existent. Just last year (2003), Vermont earned the Safest State in the nation award from the Morgan Quitno Press -- a group of statisticians who rank each state according to its safety record.

The Green Mountain State has consistently had one of the lowest crime rates in the nation, as they have earned this "Safest State" award three times in the last ten years.

The real reason the Brady Bunch doesn't like the state of Vermont is because it has relatively few restrictions on firearms. In fact, anyone can carry a gun in the state without first getting a permit or submitting to a government background check.

Which is why the folks at the Brady Campaign also gave Alaska a low grade. The Land of the Midnight Sun is now following in Vermont's footsteps -- having passed a law last year allowing citizens to freely carry firearms without first obtaining government permission.

The Brady Bunch doesn't like this at all. They awarded a D- to Alaska -- the second unbelievable grade -- and sentenced the entire state to the "time-out chair."

No, that's no joke. Their press release says that Alaska was "put in the Time- Out Chair for passing a new law that allows people to carry concealed handguns without even having a permit. Gun violence in the state could increase ...."

Yeah right. A look around the nation shows just the opposite: crime dramatically INCREASES in places that give criminals a safer working environment. Just look at Washington, DC, which has seen its murder rate increase 51 percent after imposing its draconian gun ban in 1976. Meanwhile, the murder rate decreased 36 percent throughout the entire nation during that same 25-year period.

There's a lot of "impossible things to believe" in this Report Card. But very quickly, here's four more.

FBI statistics showed last year that the states which enjoyed the lowest murder rates earned grades of D or D- from the Brady Campaign. New Hampshire, North Dakota and Maine have murder rates that any state or country could only dream about.

But the Brady Bunch suggests that these would not be states where you would want to live, because they are not keeping kids "safe from gun violence."

Again, these states have the lowest murder rates in the country. Doesn't that count for anything?

Finally, the Brady Bunch awarded Maryland one of the highest grades in the nation (an A-), even though they had the second HIGHEST murder rate in the nation.

How can the Brady Campaign give that state an A- with a straight face? The state is not keeping its citizens safe from gun violence -- or any other violence for that matter. But hey, Maryland gets an A-, simply because they have strict gun control laws -- regardless of whether those laws are keeping people safe.

Do you see the irony here?

The White Queen would probably have no problem believing this Report Card, but the rest of us should.

It's a sad thing when people try to push fiction as reality. And that is what the Brady Campaign's Report Card is. It's fiction.

At least with Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll knew he was writing about make-believe.
