Al, do you think we ( usa ) are being led down the road to socialism, or worse? It seems to me SOMEONE wants to assure we are weak, demoralised, and helpless.
Ceaser said "give them bread and circuses" when asked how to control the jobless, welfare supported populace (all of Rome!). See any parallels?
I believe we (usa) are losing our "place and nation". Also, do we stand on our citizenship and const. rights as Paul did, or be 'meek and harmless' and let events take their course and pray for God to intervene, or maybe both? I would like your opine on all this, if you would. thanx, tommy
Militarily, we are throwing our munitions down the toilet in Yugoslavia. They know it won't work, Clinton's military advisors told him that straight away, but he has ignorned them in this regard. That is why this war is called Clinton's War. Can it work? Yes, it will work to further deplete our stockpiles of munitions. It will also work to move important military assets from stateside to Yugoslavia, by way of Reserve and Army National Guard callups. Thus, who will be home minding the store?
In the book of Revelation, it tells us that many of us will be captured and many of us will be killed. It appears that we fight. I have asked God over and over about this, and He says to me in spirit that we must fight evil wherever we find it. He also tells us that those of us intended for capture will surely be captured, and those of us intended to be killed by the sword will surelly be killed by the sword, and herein is where the children of God will have to be patient and enduring. So, we fight, but I'm convinced it's in a defensive manner. In other words, once they strike the first blow, we must defend ourselves offensively.
Let me end this post on this thought. All our lives we are taught to live this life as if it's the only one we will have. We worry so much about dieing, that we work hard to prevent our eventual death, sometimes at great cost of time and money, not that I object to that. But, if you consider the fact that even if we live to 90, our lives are as a vapor in the wind of time.
Does it matter if we're here for 50 years or 90 years? We should do our best to promote our Father and the Good News of Jesus Christ all our lives, no matter how long or short that life my appear to us. The real issue is, what do we do with the lives we have? Do we hide our belief in Jesus Christ under a bushel basket, or do we let it shine for the world to see, no matter if it ends in our deaths?
Remember, he who strives to maintain his life will lose it, and he who loses it for Christ's sake will gain it.
