For those who do not know what Agenda 21 is, on the surface it appears to be an elaborate plan to assure the survival of mankind on planet earth. Closer inspection, however, reveals a possible plot on the part of others to gain access and control over the natural and economic resources that we in the United States enjoy and benefit from. There are those who will differ in opinion on this, but close examination of the
new jargon and phraseology used in this document revealed to me that there may be a hidden agenda behind this document.Perhaps most confusing is how those of the U.N. would hope to attain such a result, in as much as they do not historically control governments in a direct fashion. The U.N. itself contends that they institutionalize their mandates indirectly through a principle they refer to as
Governance. But, a quick look in my dictonary reveals the meaning of this term as: to control or rule.Agenda 21 is allegedly a report on the state of the environment, poverty and what its writers and those who attended the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, beween June 3 and 14, 1992, in Rio de Janeiro, believe must be done to achieve what they term Sustainable Development, which appears to mean a harmonious balance between man and his environment, assuring the survival of all (or the ones who remain). I would like to bring to your attention the fact that the first file (vision.html) was removed from the U.N.'s gopher site since the posting of this page. When I found Agenda 21, which was not an easy task, I made it a point to download all the files that resided in this gopher subdirectory. In the near future I will make available either a summary of what this document says or the actual document. I will tell you this, the vision.html document outlined the U.N.'s plan for implementation of Agenda 21. It included a note that said that 1998 is the year that they intend to "institutionalize" their Agenda 21 mandates via their private and public partners. Check back often to view either the summary or the actual document. In the mean time, I will allow the description and deadend link to vision.html to remain on this page.
Editor's Note: This first document is not longer available on the U.N. gopher. Thus, I am substituting it with a document sent to me by another individual that contains a commentary regarding the original vision.html doc.
