The Giant Killers

Peter Ayscough

The MIDI tunes played on this web site are provided with the permission of Peter Ayscough, the composer.

Peter started playing drums at the age of 16 and in the following years played the Sydney (Australia) pub circuit with a number of bands, most notably The Glam Savages who evolved into The Candy Harlots. At 21 he started learning guitar and shortly afterwards he stopped learning guitar. He wasn’t interested in becoming a guitar hero, but wanted to know an instrument he could write songs with (and bash out the standards at parties). Peter’s early songs were strongly influenced by The Smiths and were played by short-lived Sydney band The Children for whom Peter sang. Shortly after the demise of The Children, Peter moved to sunny Brisbane, where he started looking for people with whom he could form a band.
