WASHINGTON — The Defense Department on Friday reversed its earlier decision to bar key witnesses from testifying about just how much information the U.S. government had on the Sept. 11 hijackers before they led the attacks that killed 3,000 people.
Former members of Able Danger say the group identified Sept. 11 hijackers, including Mohamed Atta (search), more than a year before the attacks. Although those Able Danger analysts say they told the Sept. 11 commission about their findings, former members of the panel have so far dismissed the claim.
(Editor's Note #1: May we supppose that if this is true, that someone in high places wanted 911 to happen? If so, you can bet this was a bipartisan effort. I say that because it was former President, Bill Clinton, who ordered INS to cease background investigations with regards to incoming immigrants. It also was one of his administration that was instrumental in disconnecting the various gov'tal and quasi-gov'tal entities. And more recent, the current admin. hasn't demanded an investigation of these Able Danger Op officer's allegations. All of this points to a collaborative effort on the part of both presidencies to allow such an event to occur. I'd like nothing more than to be mistaken on this. There needs to be a full investigation.)

Editor's Note #2: And here are two more items provided me anonymously at the end of 2001, beginning of 2002 concerning what certain people connected to, or within our Federal Gov't knew beforehand (I believe this is not just about this sitting President or his administration, but rather a long-range effort to change the laws of this nation with regard to intel gathering and military involvement with domestic law enforcement duties). Perhaps they will be of interest to those who truly would like to know the answer to the 911 puzzle:
ITEM A
TRANSCRIPTION OF SOUND CLIP:
Dan Rather: "Tom Kennedy, a rescue worker with the National Urban Search
and Rescue which is part of FEMA..."
Tom Kennedy: "We are currently one of the first teams that was deployed to
support the city of New York for this disaster.
We arrived on late Monday night and went into action on Tuesday morning. And
not until today did we get a full opportunity to
work the entire site....."
AUDIO: fema1.rm
(Note: The tragedy happened Tues. morning.)
ITEM B
The FBI offices on the 23rd floor of the North Tower were bombed to prevent
agents from removing grand jury evidence stored there following the jet
crashbombings. Evidence for this was given on the CBS news program 60
Minutes, although CBS seems unaware of its implications.
"Steve," from Main, who recorded the broadcast, has given me, over the phone
and into my tape recorder, his recording of a segment of the CBS interview.
Here is my careful transcription (lots of "rewind" and "play" buttonwork) of
that recording.
Steve's intro: This is a segment of the 60 minutes report, mid-October.
They're interviewing the Chief of Security for the World Center Towers. The
60 Minutes reporter is doing the interview of George Tabeek [phonetic
spelling of audio -- could be "Tabeak," etc.] They are talking about him and
a fire fighter named Andy Desparino.
(Steve starts his vhs recording with his phone held to the speaker):
Reporter:
...In another part of the tower George Tabeek got a call that three Port
Authroity workers were trapped in command center on the 22nd floor.
Tabeek (fuzzy sound-- as if dubbed in from an edited-for broadcast phone
interview):
I said, "Stay calm, I'll be up there." I went to the battalion chief; he
assigned a lieutenant -- it's all I know is his first name, his first name
was Andy ...
Reporter (clear sound-- not phone interview):
Andy Desparino of Engine Company One
Tabeek:
And worked our way all the way up to the twenty-second floor
Reporter (fuzzy -- phone interview clip again):
Are people going down?
Tabeek:
People were coming down. I was telling them, "Please be calm" walk to the
left
Reporter (clear -- with jet impact sound in background during first
sentence):
What George Tabeek didn't know was that a second jet had just struck tower
seven (sic) And when they reached the twenty-second floor of Tower One
Desperino and his men tunneled through the debris and opened up a path for
those trapped inside. Helen Reese, meanwhile, was at another Port
Authority Command Center talking to those unable to get down from the upper
floors ...
(end of excerpt)
Clearly a bomb went off 50 floors below where the first plane hit
North Tower, on the 23rd floor. This planted bomb collapsed the
ceiling of the 22nd floor. No records would be saved from the
FBI offices.
Editor's Note #3: For what it's worth, when I published this on one of my other web sites in 2002, someone alledging to be connected to mil called and confirmed that 1) there had been an explosion on the 23rd floor of one of the towers, and 2) that first responders from every level of gov't were stationed in every major manicipality across the nation because our normal channels of intel had a day and a time, but no specific target.
So, the bottom line is, and I dislike saying this because of its implication, but I personally believe these officers who participated in the Able Danger Op.
