The Earth is a smaller place in which to live, now that technology has minimized the time it requires information to travel from one end to the other. Radio signals have the inherent capability of traveling from one corner of the Earth to the other in a mere few seconds.
“All electromagnetic radiation travels in straight lines at the speed of light. Earth is now surrounded by a sphere of radio and TV signals about 80 light years in diameter and expanding at warp speed. Because we on earth began radio broadcasting about 80 years ago. Something out there is listening to us. Real science fiction,” says Jack Wagoner, Jack's Radio Fundamentals, WB8FSV (on the Internet at www.netwalk.com/~fsv/).
So why are we not really listening to ourselves? Is there anything that we’re saying that is really worth listening to? Why would anyone out in space be even the least bit interested in the unscientific explanations of global warming, or of sustainable development, or anti-God rhetoric? Anyone advanced further than mankind would quickly see the truth behind the news and information that mankind is fed on a daily basis—why can’t most of us see through the veil of deceit and misleading voices that promise to lead us to the promise land of an unsustainable, largely unattainable Utopia?
Mankind is now kept informed of essential new and general information, as he has never before experienced. In an instant, Americans are told of a tragedy that has just taken place in the Middle East or in Germany, for example. The problem, however, is two-fold. First, the general public is experiencing an “information overload” where they are given so much information that they are unable to properly analyze and classify it, placing every shred of it in perspective. Second, this information is being carefully and skillfully manipulated so to impart specific ideas, philosophies, psychologies, and conclusions in the minds of the masses.
For the above reasons, a danger exists in the area of a controlled media that dispenses slanted news and general information to a largely unsuspecting populace. The situation is exasperated by the public’s trust of media personalities that they commonly see on the nightly news programs and popular talk shows promoted by the networks.
One could say that such manipulation is impossible, given the fact that most media outlets are largely stockholder owned, which would exempt them from a concerted effort to subvert truth by virtue of their sheer numbers. However, if one expands his or her mind for just a moment, it might become clear that the issue at hand is more of overall control by ranking individuals who, themselves may not own one smidgen of stock—individuals who either believe in a slanted agenda or whom somehow are connected to a controlling organization that practices mass psychology to perpetuate certain beliefs and accepted thoughts among the general public.
TEMPORARY CONCLUSION
The temporary conclusion for today is that you must scrutinize what you are spoon fed on the news, in television and radio programs, as well as the stuff you encounter on the Internet. Yes, this would include what we publish on GKO, for as most of our readers know, we have published commentaries and information that could be said to be Left as well as Right. You simply cannot take everything you hear and accept it without truly analyzing it.
With that in mind, over the next 12 months we intend to build GKO anew, but we need your help to do it. If you have an interesting take on the news, on an important societal issue, or you would simply like to express your thoughts on a given subject, we invite you to send it along to GKO. Send it along to us using the appropriate link you will find on our contact page.
