A World DieingStir us, we pray! While the world perishes, We go our way. Purposeless, passionless, Day after day. Set us afire, Lord, Stir us, we pray! This short prayer in the form of a poem was written by Ralph Spaulding Cushman. When I read it, by the 3rd line I was impressed by the significance of what it had to tell me: While the world perishes. While those within this world talk of an expanded spirituality on the part of mankind, an evolving consciousness, truth be known we're doing just the opposite as a whole. As a society we are becoming more and more entrenched in the material world with each passing day. Even the new-agers among us should recognize the truth in this statement by virtue of our enthrallment with technology. Most of us are glued to the television, for example, every day of the week. Every spare moment we have where do we spend it? Most of us sit in front of the television and wonder why our world is falling apart. The truth is, there are powerful people out there who own the airways. They bought and paid big dollars to capture it and they are using it to condition you and I--all of humanity, for their own private, greedy purposes. My sense of this is that the world is actually in a state of decay, rotting away as we speak. You can smell the rotting mind stuff on our televisions. The diagnosis is terminal and it's only a matter of time until the patient stops breathing. And from our Bibles we know that in the end the earth is cleansed by fire just as it was cleansed by the great flood of Noah. There is no spiritual evolution at work before us, only a world in a state of devolution as we've allowed Satan, the devil, to take over our minds by way of the 6 o'clock news and all the filth that is portrayed in reality shows and other programming. Isn't it time you stopped pumping this junk into your head? Do you recall the old computer phrase from long ago? Garbage in -- Garbage outABC |
