15 June 2008, Sunday I have something I brought back with me. I spent considerable time in and out of the dream state [all morning] dealing with children with Down's Syndrom. The one little girl was on roller blades and she could skate "like the wind," as someone in the dream told me. "Maximum effort" is what many of these children's lives are all about--putting forth maximum effort to make up for the other things they lack. And what's more, they never complain about it. They just keep on keeping on. The one place, one part of one of the dreams was in a small town where the parents of Down's Syndrom children actually go to live to be part of a community that focuses on their children and their education. There were Down's Syndrom children everywhere and they were well loved and caref for. "Give it all you got" is another slogan they are taught. To put forth maximum effort giving it all they got is what their little lives hinge on. The last dream, which just ended, was about a small baby who was wrapped in a shaw. The mother was bedridden, maybe Down's Syndrom herself. There was an extension to the baby that enabled her spirit to communicate with the mother in a way I cannot relate or even communicate myself. But it clearly showed me that although the bodies are malformed and reflect ugliness [on the outside], deep down inside are intelligent spirits that [reflect beauty and that] are worthy of our care and love. ### ABC |
