No one is without guilt at some point in their life. Guilt can motivate or it can cripple--the choice is our own to make. Guilt is defined as "Crime; sin" in the Webster's Ever-Ready Dictionary, (©1924 J.R. Sears & Company, Inc.). But does our feeling of guilt have to last forever? The fact is, our sins and crimes can be forgiven if we but ask Jesus, the Son of the Most High God. What does He, our God have to say about our personal feeling of guilt in His Word? Let's take a look.
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. -- Psalm 103:12 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. -- 1 John 1:7 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. -- 1 John 2:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I rmember no more. -- Hebrews 8:12 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. -- 1 John 3:20 |
